Why do so many people hate living with snow?

I don't hate snow, but I hate having ice patches on the roads and I hate what the salt will do to my car. I also hate starting my car in cold weather. I don't mind driving in the snow.

...lots of hard work and it goes on for months..you end up with a big snow pyle and you don't know what to do with it. :disgust:

i just don't like it on the roads

it the roads were heated to prevent snow/ice from getting on them, then it would be ok

word to that and all, but driving in the snow can be fun, too
an ADVENTURE!

What trade off is there? What do you get out of snow that makes all the obvious hassle worth it?

I grew up with snow, so it's just another artifact of another season for me. I don't mind it, but I certainly don't see any benefits.

if you don't see any benefits of the snow you must not appreciate it's recreational value.

The snow and cold weather wreaks havoc on cars, rooftops, outdoor siding, concrete and just about everything else, drastically adding to repair costs and depreciation values. There is a reason that cars depreciate in value faster in the midwest than more southern states.

How so? I'm 24 years old, and sledding down the streets no longer appeals to me. I don't live in a state with sufficient terrain to allow snowboarding, and we don't get enough snow to warrant the purchase of a snowmobile. I have no children, so building a snowman is of little interest.

I see a lot of value for those that live in areas where skiing, snowboarding, etc. becomes a possibility, but that is to the exclusion of most states I believe.

It's sucks because I have to get up a 3 or 4 am to go into work when it snows. And usually stay until 6 or 7 at night after.

It's cold and wet, that's all you need to know.

So are most of the great lakes.

🙂

and those suck too
So are most of the spots on mine and my gf's bed.

Thoes tones will change when a fresh water shortage threatens peoples ability to live in areas not where water isnt so abundant.

Oh, you won't hate the snow. You'll hate the cold. The bitter, -27 degree cold augmented by the 40kph winds.
