Why do rich people like white Christmas lights?

Every house in my brother's neighborhood ($400-500k houses) has all white Christmas lights. I guess it's seen as classier, to the point where no one at all has colored lights. What compels these people to be so bland and whitebread that even their Christmas lights lack color?

Edit: I realize 400-500k is not a lot in most highly populated parts of the country, but this is in a Houston suburb, and one of the most expensive subdivisions in this area. It's expensive enough for Slim Thug to have a house there.

I think white lights (really, any one-color light) look nicer.

multi-color lights just tend to blend together into orange.

white represents pureness - and you know home much rich folks pay for 'pure' water. . .

Why should their lights be any different

Does that make it a better 'hood? Does Fat Joe live there too? What about Ozzie Out'on Bail? Kevin Killa'Cop? Beat-beat-beat a'hoe? Do they live there too?

So what; your brother lives in a middle income neighborhood with some criminals...here you go.

Because they don't want their house to look like it came from Wal-Mart?

Actually, I see a lot of nice homes with colored lights. The difference is that they usually pick one or two colors and stick with them in long strands rather than alternating. Blue and white seems to be common. Alternating colors on strands tends to look cheap, especially with the smaller lights.

I like blue lights or blue & white. My moms tree (just put up today) is a fiber optic and has a black&white filter that makes the tree just flash white on and off in patterns with blue lights strung in it, blue&clear hanging glass balls, fake blue w/silver flowers arranged in side with a blue dressed angel on top. Looks really nice. I need to take a picture of it.

I don't want a cookie. I have no appreciation for the neighborhood because I despise suburban sprawl, especially when its of that nonfunctioning, pedestrian unfriendly type common in Texas.

I personally think multicolored lights are quite tacky... My parents go for white and one or two other solid colors. It looks quite a bit nicer in my opinion. I can't remember the last time we had any color on our christmas tree, we go for white.

Does that mean they do walk-bys instead of drive-bys?

I like the colored lights. A simple string of colored lights along the gutter on the front of a house looks very nice.

White lights are boring. You see them all year.

It's true that lots of rich people put up white lights...but it goes both ways in some places.

No. Because it's unfriendly to pedestrianism. They'd be doing drive bys in their Hummer H2s and Escalades.

Question: Why do rich people like white Christmas lights?

Answer: Cause its a different color than the white trash trailer with rainbow lights that stay up all year long and get turn on any xor every time its dark and they are drunk.
