Why do Republicans LOVE to overuse the word Liberal?

When ever I hear a Republican politico who's running for office, or describing the ills of our country, I can always count down the seconds till I hear the word 'Liberal.' It usually pops up in the second or third sentence.

Living in Boston, it sort of reminds me of the VERY tired, hackneyed phrase "Yankees Suck, Yankees Suck, Yankees suck, that RedSox fans chant at games. Just like 'Yankees Suck,' Republicans saying 'Liberal' all the time is getting 'O so tired.

I'm surprised the hardcore Democrats in the USA haven't thought of a similar, compact word that connotes soo much to disparage republicans?

Whenever I hear blanket criticisms by wither party my mind transforms Liberal\Conservative into Sieg Heil.

yea, anyone that disagrees with your average fundamentalist republican is usually a "damn liberal commie", regardless or thier actual beliefs.

because for republican, that's how they do their campaign. and because for democrats, that's not how they do it.

Belongs in P&N.

Though I don't remember many Democratic candidates slathering their speeches with the words "conservative" or "right-wing(er)". Weird. Usually both sides have different versions of everything the other does.
 
Why do left wingers LOVE to overuse the word "neocon?" (especially in the P&N forum here, ugh) Same annoying deal.
 
their limited vocabulary. i've heard scientific claims that humans have an unlimited mental capacity. repubilcans have since proven such theories incorrect.

Because they think if they say "Liberal" often enough, people will actually think there is something wrong with being a liberal.
And they are succeeding. Now people don't like being called "liberal." Of course if you ask them if they want Social Security, Medicare, Civil Rights, Public Health, College Financial Aid, and other Liberal programs or positions, they say yes. So they love to hate liberals, but don't you dare take away their liberal social programs. 😀

Just an observation..."Neocon" is a fairly new word being used. I don't think I ever heard it used prior to the Bush administration. Liberal has be thrown around for quite some time...
