Numpad you fools! Perfect symmetry, 1& 2, 7 & 9 perfect for special binds, enter = jump, . = crouch, / = reload if needed....

...when ESDF is clearly better. You waste 3 buttons and a whole finger with WASD. Anybody that touch types should have no problem hitting Tab, caps lock, shift with the pinky. Left Ctrl is kinda hard though. Plus you open up keys that have good mnemonics like W - weapon G - grenade C - crouch V - voice A - activate/use

I use ESDF too... because of natural typing. but if you really want to be effecient... use ASDFIn theory, you'd be able to move faster because you have a dedicated finger for forward/back. My friend plays this way.. i can't get used to it, ESDF faster for me

if i rest my fingers on WASD i have my little finger on left shift, which is perfect IMO

I guess I'm a freak, I only use ASD, I use Mouse button 2 for forward.

I don't use ctrl, shift, or alt.Originally posted by: 0roo0roo
wasd is reasonable ergonomic esp on a split keyboard. having ctrl shift alt and space within easy reach.. well no reach at all. esdf makes you stretch your pinky to reach those keys, stretching is bad for you.
