WHAT DO I DO GIVE A fVck is what THE PROF IS TEACHING US. NOT YOUR OWN Added sound effect + BS. We are paying like $20/hour ish ++ to listen to lectures and trying to learn and then there are those a** mentioned above trying to yap away during a lecture. IF YOU LIKE to talk so much, WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU WANT TO DO IT IN A GODAMN lecture, so it outside or in your BED WITH YOUR LOVER/WHORE/WHATEVER....

Because they have social lives. You're the type of person that university is wasted on, you concentrate so hard on the work side that you miss the other 50% of it, the human interaction, which is just as important as the academic achievement. I agree, and i'm not disputing the fact that people talking in lectures when youre trying to listen is irritating. If he'd have said:

"Man, it really annoys me when people talk in lectures..."

and talked about it normally i'd have agreed with him. But if you read his posts he's obviously a nutjob, he talks about people and their families dying in car fires, along with cursing them in a very extreme way. The man obviously has far deeper issues than being annoyed at talking in lectures, did you read his posts? He is obviously mentally unbalanced, and I mean that in all seriousness. did you pay for / take loans out for your school by yourself? I'm payin $550 a unit, and if someone is yappin in class I guess I'd be pissed too, but I guess I'm fortunate since the average age at my school is about 30..... especially if this guy is working full time and paying for his school, he's got more reason to be pissed.... but then again you may be right as well

Btw, i am an official notetaker for some students with disability in the class, so I have to make VERY sure that the notes are complete and accurate, I just can't do that with all those YAPPERS in the class.
And yes, i tried changing seats...without avail, no matter what area of the class i move to, i can hear them or other people yapping. I can move to the first row but then it becomes impossible to use my laptop for notetaking.

who the hell cares if they have a life? they should still STFU in class. social interaction has no place in a lecture. group activities, sure, but lecture? no. shut up. pass notes if you really can't stand paying attention. it's your choice if you don't want to pay attention but no one has the right distract others from doing so.

and i highly doubt nanyangview's desire to hear his professor is a symptom of being a "wacko." you DID intend that to be offensive, you "bloody" liar. if you had paid attention in your lectures, you'd know about this little thing called "denial." they teach you about it in psychology. but i guess you were too busy talking.

well, to be fair I have never had this come up so I don't know. But if it was a bit lecture hall 200+ people, the most the professor can do is talk about it the next day and that'll be it. If he/she does not enforce it then it will continue.
