The ending to Abyss kinda soured it for me

[snip]

I was like "Giant alien ship in a ocean trench? fuck off."

Were they aliens? Or just an advanced undersea intelligent civilization that evolved independently from humankind?

All those complaining about Ed Furlong as John Connor: His character reminds me of a lot of similar juvenile delinquent punk kids I knew back then. Pretty accurate snapshot of that type from that era, except for the 1337 hax0r skillz.

For a young kid actor, I think Edward Furlong did fine. The amount of hate he usually gets seems out of proportion... And I'm not just being nice because I've seen some shitty acting by kids -- can't blame them much due to age.

Yeah. I think people don't realize how much of it was just a change in cultural trends. Back then, every kid wanted to be John Connor and they all thought he was really cool in the movie. Kids didn't hate his character or acting back then. I don't think adults back then hated it either.

No denying the character is a bit annoying now.

This was more of the older, T3 version of John Connor, which I thought was the best one yet. That flick gets shit on more than it deserves, imo.

SCC John Connor was also fairly decent. I think this one was the John between T2 and T3.

I agree that T3 gets too much flak. It was actually a wild, entertaining, action spectacle with all of the elements that made a good Terminator flick. However, I find that the casting of John Connor's character was my primary complaint!

I found him annoying when I saw the movie in the theatre.
