I believe costco offers free tire rotations for life of the tires if you buy your tires from them ... that accounts for part of the up front price ....
It's up to them to determine if your tires are end of life. I have been driving less than 1500mi/yr (much less during pandemic) so my tire wear was pretty minimal compared to how long I had the tires and they wouldn't rotate them for me because of how long I'd had them. I finally just bought new tires because of the age, but Costco didn't stock them for my '97 Mazda. I wound up driving ~20mi to America's Tire. Good deal but one of the tires' valve was faulty and the tire went flat and I had to drive back to have that replaced (free). I think they should have tested that valve before they let me leave in the first place.

Yeah bunch on the list doesn’t apply or ranks as Meh to me.
However....
A snack bar at checkout sounds like it’s worth the price of admission.

More seriously I picked up the 6800U bidet you recommended a few months ago. I absolutely know my wife will appreciate it and while it is currently not a problem I would like to get my Parents into thinking they are not weird. They are getting old and cleaning back there could become a problem, hasn’t yet but it would be great if I could get them accustomed to the idea now.
The bidet purchase alone paid for the membership. I’ll try shopping there and see what it’s all about but that won’t happen until August.
Next project is to figure out how to replace a basement window, project after that is to run a wire for the bidet.

I've talked a few people into the bidets & they're universally loved lol. First step is getting past the weird stigma. It's sort of like the Instant Pot...it's a bit intimidating at first because it's a non-standard type of gadget, but once you plug into the joy of using it, it makes sense & then you wonder how you ever lived without it! I've since ended up replacing all of the toilet lids in my house with the 6800's on sale over the years. We are 100% bidet now lol.

We got a bidet for my grandma before she passed & it was such a huge help. Just one of those things you have to deal with as part of getting older. 100% recommend, especially as the 6800 has a heated seat, heated water, and the remote control can move the aimer stick for relocation. TMI but needless to say it's worth it!

Have both Sam's and Costco, for just the two of us. Sam's is only a couple of miles from the house, Costco, 60ish miles.

Sam's for most groceries and paper goods. I did the math, I can justify the membership costs with one product, vs. the grocery store price. Toilet paper. Add in the price difference on paper towels, and I far ahead. But the bulk of our food comes from Sam's, and their Members Mark brand is often better than 'well known' brands. Sam's also has free curbside pickup, which we used a lot during COVID, and if you just don't want to fool with that, free shipping on anything they ship.
Replaced a car battery recently, $70 cheaper than any 'parts place', and they installed it for free. OBTW, exactly the same Duracell battery in all cases.

Costco, we go every 6 - 8 weeks, for specific things they carry, mostly food items, or their paper products. Their Kirkland brand is also good, sometimes the best. And they ship for free on many items.
During the pandemic, got the hankering for a bigger/better TV, so went with a 4K 65". Save more than my annual membership on that one item, compared to Amazon, BB, etc., and it was delivered into my living room.

A reputable shop will replace and or rebuild the Stem / TPMS assemblies when tires are purchased.

tbh I don't know why they're not standard in America. The heated seat alone on mine is worth it in the winter! I used to buy foam toilet seats just to manage the cold winter days lol.

But it's like that for a lot of things. That's one of the reasons I'm such an evangelist for the Instant Pot, particularly in the IT community, where we tend to eat sub-par foods on a sub-par schedule because our brains are so maxed out all the time that it's hard to want to put in more effort doing the chore of cooking at home after work lol. Once you get past that "rite of passage", a whole new world opens up for you!

Doesn't a bidet make you wet down there?

Yes:

1. There's a built-in hair dryer. But it takes forever haha. You basically air-dry this way. Watch some TikTok for awhile on your phone if you decide to go this route.
2. You just need one wipe of TP & you're done instead. So it's VERY efficient.

Also nice if you have gut issues (food poisoning, IBS, etc.) because you're not (TMI) making yourself raw from using too much TP. I'll never go back to not using a bidet. Warm seat + warm water + much cleaner = winning! Again, it's a weird topic to talk about, but people need to KNOW! lol

I've been considering it for a few years, and figure I'd get the model from Costco that you recommend. TBH, a concern of mine is just that I've never AFAIK in my life seen one! ANYWHERE! Granted I have not been to Europe or Asia. My family is by and large fairly well to do and I've been in most of their homes (well, at least half, I guess) and their toilets that I've seen are "standard." Maybe the one off the main bedroom has one, no idea. So, I'm wondering, if I have guests, what will they make of it?

Not sure if these have been said and currenrly to lazy to read through the posts.
1) the store has a whole lot things not on the website. There are so many in-stire items that never show up on their site.
2) kirkland toilet paper is the best toilet paper. Way better than any name brand stuff. Totally worth the price. I have nonidea who makes it but it is notnxharmin, angel soft, etc. Qay better. Paper towels are also very good and meet the value criteria.

no it has not been said and that probably explains the lack of sub $300 above range microwaves. Found it strange they only stocked three.

I am intrigued by bidets myself, I'd definitely consider one if I was doing a 2nd bathroom. I would not want to just swap out my existing toilet in case I end up not liking it though.

you don’t have to, this is a seat that sits on almost any toilet, has a few measure considerations which I forgot to check but they seem pretty normal. Gonna guess if you have one of those weird concave or convex tanks it won’t fit, if you have one of the funky Euro tanks that’s super slim but sit tight against the seat it may not work.

I love Costco, so much good stuff there. That being said, Kirkland toilet paper is garbage. They sell Charmin at my local store as well and it is worth the extra $2-3 on a 36 roll or whatever package. The last couple of times I've needed TP we've had to go with Kirkland due to availability and it's been horrible. Flimsy, thin two-ply garbage.

You aren't going to find a range of microwaves to look at at the stores. They may have one model. You'll see when you get there.

If I remember I’ll update the thread post my first time....at Costco.

Don’t remember the other first time, too drunk.

I've used many microwaves, bought them, found on sidewalk. I paid good bucks for the one I'm using now and love it, would not consider another. This is ultimately simple, none of the [this is for blah] buttons, just a turn dial that counts down, goes up to something like 6 minutes but I never go over 2.5. It's a commercial unit, the kind you'll find in a corporate lunchroom. No stupid spinning turntable to drive you crazy, get off its spindle, your cup's handle is always where you put it. Super easy to keep clean, looks great.

in nonpandemic times the gas alone pays for my membership. and i don't drive far nor do i have a gas guzzler. also buy shit tons of dog food/treats there. and peanut butter pretzel nuggets. decent frozen fish in individual packets. big selection of prime beef. nice baked goods. really good avocados. hot dog and pizza and chicken bake in the food court for fast food speed.

there's also a lot of suburban privileged quackery sold at costco. lots of candy masquerading as health food in the first couple aisles behind the cash register, and a lot of supplements of questionable value in the pharmacy area. don't buy that shit.

Their organic PNButter's good stuff, gotta stir! I store upside down, makes that easier.

I rarely hit the food court, nothing against it except that I stay away from FF.

Plenty stuff I don't give a 2nd look but that's true of most everywhere.

The supplements? Most I ignore but I do buy my supplements there. Multivitamins, C, D, probiotics, glucosamine. What's not to like???

I tried it and was grossed out. Here's the note to myself concerning this:

rotisserie chicken (never again, what a greasy mess I had on my hands!!!!!) 4.99 :D

Wow really? I get one every time I go & it's always good! I wonder if yours was sitting around all day or something, bummer!

Re: Costco rotisserie chicken...It was almost 4 years ago. I don't know. I guess it was just a mess to deal with, dealing with the chicken grease! I could try it again, I guess. Any hints? How do you deal with it? Do you throw away the skin? Do you cook up the bones for a bone broth afterward? Details?

I don't think I can take the bidet plunge until I have somewhere to plug it in. Cold water is not my bag.
