Please understand that I am not trying to be rude or offensive.

I am wondering why there have been so many cultures that disliked Jews in the past and present.

Egyptians in the past. (Biblical times)
Europeans in the recent past. (Germany (Nazi Party) and other surrounding countries)
Everyone else today. (people making jokes about Jews)

Is it just becasue they have a different religion in general or what?

Do you have any idea how ridiculous that sounds?

The US hates Jews? Pull the other one. Israel is supported by the USA, it's the homeland of the Jews, created on land that should be the Palestinians. If the US hates Jews so much, then why is the US the country that's giving the most support to Israel in its efforts to establish a country in someone elses land?

I am not positive, but I would venture to guess its based on differences in religion. Thats where most of the worlds hatred always seems to come from.

The Palistinians have little claim to Israel. Historically, they have only recent claim to the land. You must consider the history first. Israel is the homeland of the Jewish people, and has been for many thousands of years.

Jews are responsible for afflicting the Egyptians with plagues as well as killing all their first borns..
Europeans thought Jews had all the money
Everyone else thought Jews had all the money

It's a case of the haves and have nots...a bunch of welfare-Americans or stupid inbred-Europeans...or a bunch of Jews that have money, they basically started money lending in Europe and the people that borrowed money got irked that they had to pay it back...
Jews are fairly well liked in the US, listen to Sandler's Happy Hanukah song, the newer one.

Differences in religion is probably the primary reason. Add to that envy as a result of a reputation, historically, of Jewish being able to manage money, investments, etc., permitting ownership of land, businesses, etc. Political power is never a good thing if you aren't the one that has it.

I think it's the whole "chosen people" thing. If someone walks around saying he's the "chosen one", he isn't gonna make many friends.

SO according to your skewed logic the ancestors of the Indians who lived on the land where my house is located have more of a claim to it than I do? Yeah right!

Sure, if you build a house of worship on top of their most sacred shrine, I'd say yes. But that is not the case now is it?

Any difference in religion has never been tolerated historically. That right there can explain much of the hatred over history and today.

Germany can be summarized into one simple word: economy. After WW1 Germany's economy was devistated. Many people were poor and had little or nothing. As a general trend Jews often highly value education and hard work (this doesn't apply to everyone, but it does apply to many). Thus it was the Jews who quickly recovered and became much more wealthy than the average German population. Combine the difference in religion with the fact that almost everyone was dirt poor except the Jews and you get jealisy and hatred. Hitler was a very good speaker, and convinced the general population that they were poor from the Jews (and not WW1). They were desperate, they had nothing, but the Jews had what they wanted.

As for today, there is still a lot of anger and hatred from the results of WW2. Plus add in the difference of religion. I think the majority of jokes are just that: jokes. You don't think that all American's hate Polocks do you? We have nothing against the Polish people, but they are probably the most joked about.
