Outside of Indiana, it's not PC anymore to be racist. But you can still hate basketball players, rap music, etc. Same sh!t, different day.

you don't see that kind of hate for tim duncan, lebron , T-mac , KG etc., Amaire (sp?) or Wade do you ?

Duncan, Amare, and Wade I would agree with... but cmon the rest of them are drama queens. Shaq was as big of a drama queen as Kobe is... if there's anyone to blame for so called "destroying" the Lakers... it's Mitch Kupchak.

yea, kobe is a money man, only in it for the money. he doesnt do jack sh;t outside of playing bball, and adultery.

you get people like Mourning who give back so damn much. and LeBron could definately be making more money if he wanted to, but he wants to play for his home team.
don't they have maximum contracts now? A player like Lebron will get a maximum contract no matter where he goes, so "getting a lot more somewhere else" isn't necessarily true. He has plenty either way... he could play for free and still be uber-rich with his endorsement deals

Guys, don't make comments like these or it destroys any credibility to your whole argument. (nourdmrolNMT1 is totally wrong, PoPPeR, while not incorrect in his statements, did not exactly set the record straight in this case)

Players drafted in the first round are paid on a set scale for their first four years in the league (fourth year is a team option). James, having just finished his second year, is still two years away from signing a negotiated contract. So let's not give him kudos for something he hasn't done yet.

Additionally, players can actually get more money by staying with their own team. Under the CBA, the most a free agent can sign for is ~$12 million plus about 10% per year raises (I'm quoting these numbers off the top of my head). If he stays with his own team he can continue to receive 10% bonuses on top of what he makes. That is how players like Garnett and O'Neal have contracts of $25+ million.

I think most people deep down feel that these basketball players are thugs except for a few of them who are truly nice people.

Excellent point. I hate to admit it but I'm old enough to have seen Bill Russell, Bill Bradley, Oscar Robinson play-intellegent players who could put more than a couple sentences together and not look like their next career stop was 5-10 at Joliet.
