Why do people go to clubs?

Kenji4861 referring to your first post here, your argument is frankly ridiculous, i've been clubbing for 5 years and if you think the only reason people go is to meet other people then you are sadly mistaken. Not everyone runs off their hormones like a 15-year old, and there's no doubt in my mind she thinks you're a dork for suggesting that she can't go to a club simply to have a good time. I think it's just a case of you haven't ever been to a club more than a couple of times in your life, so you have no idea what they are like, just a pre-conceived idea that everyone sits there groping people.

I used to go with a big group of my friends twice a week and we would just dance, get wasted, and enjoy the music we love. I'd say that out of all the times i've been clubbing, i've hooked up with someone 3 times, and that was because they hit on me, I never went looking for it once.

Besides, there are basicall 2 types of club, the sleazy, alcohol-fuelled type, which is probably what youre thinking of. The other type is more the soft-drug type that plays amazing dance music and everyone is just there to enjoy themselves and get high. I imagine these are the types she goes to, yes?:beer:

Ahh I think maybe i'm talking about a different type of club then. Because they don't finish at 2am, more like 4am. Clubs in Europe are unbelievable, awesome dance music played by all the top DJ's, and the reason people don't hook up is because pretty much everyone is high, which means sex is usually low down in the list of priorities. You just go to have a good time with your friends and listen to the music you love, as well as dance all night. It's a different type of atmosphere to a drinking club, much more relaxed and easy-going, without that air of aggression I always find you get on alcohol. :beer:

I go because it is fun to get really sh!t faced on occasion. Not felt like so in a while but like to get a bit pissed at times. Time to have a break and to let loose. Go dancing and enjoy myself. When I was single I was in to chatting to new girls and having fun. Now that I have a gf I still go to clubs with my mates, but don't seek to do anything more then meet new people. No intention of going further then friends. I also go clubbing with my gf. She loves to club.

There is a MASSIVE psychological difference between using a drug, and drinking alcohol. Yes they are both a type of drug and both can cause harm, but there is a stigma and taboo attached to drugs which means they will never be in the same class and cannot really be compared. I find them both fun, but drugs need to be used in FAR more moderation than alcohol.

And Dopefiend, no I haven't been there mate but I've heard it's a right laugh. I've just moved down to Sussex from up North, so haven't had much chance to explore the South club-wise yet. Rest assured I'll make it my next priority after renovating my new house... :beer:

When I go to clubs (not all that often) I go to just have some fun. Since I'm not really looking for one night stands with club girls, I just dance and have some fun with the people I came with and any other people I meet who are there for the same reason. And you know what, I always have fun when I go. No pressure of trying my hardest to hook up with the hottest chick who will actually go home with me. No hurt feelings from getting rejected. Even the best of us can't always get what we want, and it sucks when you don't. But if you just go to have a good time, you'll probably have one.

Hehehe there is nothing nicer than seeing a bikini-clad leggy blonde or brunette dancing like an absolute demon on the dancefloor, even if you don't go to try and pull them. And the great thing about girls who club is that they are nearly always sound as fvck, really nice personalities and really chilled out and easygoing. As for that Peach night I have'nt heard of it, PM me some details, or PM me your email address and I'll give you mine. Whereabouts in the UK do you live anyway? :beer:
