Why do people collect videos/DVD's?

$21 for a DVD???? Shoot, I'm still averaging under $10 per dvd in my 300+ collection. This is cheap consiering that a rental is about $4, then there's the late fee charge when I forget to take it back.

Hmm, I have to pay 30$+ for my dvd's since I mostly get US imports as the things I want aren't released in europe (at least not here in Denmark).
I cannot rent the movies I want to see thus I have to buy 'em. So I have several dvd's I've only watched once but I'll watch 'em again whenever I feel like it, at least I have that option without having to leave the house

I only buy DVD's of movies I think are very very good and worth watching more than once, like classic movies.
