I remember an article in C&D where they wanted to create the biggest baddest cop car so they got a new LTD and souped it up with a new engine and the best aftermarket parts. They said people would completely back off from them and even had a few police cars follow them home to see who they were.

A buddy of mine has a 94 caprice cop car and he loves to scare the piss out of people. He put the cage in, the blue/yellow stripes are still down the side, the Call 911 sticker is on the fender. When he bought it, they left the lights in the back window, but he got pulled over and received a fix-ot ticket to get rid of them.

I tell you, the funniest thing is playing with the megaphone that is built in. :D

1) Cheap, reliable car... spotlight usually comes with them
2) Fun scaring people like you ;)
3) Some people fix them up real good and take them to auto shows (which I am working on)

Pics of my '94 CV

MacBaine, what is on your dash? It looks like a radar device to me. However, I'm sure it's serving another purpose. However, if one truly wants to be a cop (versus a "wannabee" cop) why not just go through the academy and be a legitimate cop?

It could have been an off-duty cop driving an unmarked, or some environmental "agent" (in Dalllas we see that all the time)

Yes, it is a radar unit (for show use, although it is fully functional)

Any I do plan on becoming a cop, for the record, once I get through college :)

They live in Floriduh and are hundreds of years old, get in the way on city streets and drive in the left lane. Bigger is safer for them.

Crown Vics and LTD don/t make me paranoid any more, it's when I see a white Camero now that makes me paranoid.

Usually those cars have powerful engines plus they have 4 doors and sometimes nice interiors... I don't blame them.

A lot of the taxi cab drivers in my area buy retired police cars because of their durability.

I would just want to drive it because it's a powerful RWD boat and you could drive it like those bad-ass 70's TV cops. I'd have no emotional attachment to it, so I could drive off curbs or speed over speed bumps and not care if it got all banged up. I might even bang it up on purpose, just as punishment for being such a boat. Bwahaha! Bad car! Who's your daddy?! ::floors it over the crest of a san francisco hill, catches air::

hehe... I think you have some latent anger issues... :p
