In short, you sound like a bit of an asshat that worries way too much about everyone else. Travel a little more and you'll probably barely notice where you are let alone everyone else. Relax and try to make the best of it.

Well how about the airlines themselves? I still can't understand the "group" boarding thing. It's completely random. Yesterday I flew from Orlando, was put in the 2nd to last row (I hate United and their economy plus bullcrap, other airlines just give everyone more room), but my boarding group was the last to get on the plane. So of course there's a long line remaining from group 1 and 2 because those idiots can't put their shit away and sit down without it taking 10 minutes. Board from the back to the front, what a novel concept!

I get a little pissed when people that are sitting in the back of the plane decide to use my overhead bin to store their oversized roll aboard that shouldn't have been allowed on in the first place.
Take that oversized piece of crap to the back of the plane where you belong.
I put in my time and earned enough status to get a seat towards the front with a little extra legroom and I don't want some lazy asshat putting their heavy suitcase in the bin above me. That is where I am going to be putting my stuff so I can access it during the flight if I want to.
Sorry, but that is a big pet peeve of mine. Each seat is allocated plenty of storage space and if each person stored their items in the vacinity of their seat, people would get on an off the plane a lot quicker.
My favorite is when someone from the back decides to stow their stuff in first class and the flight attendant pulls the item and asks over the intercom whose luggage it is and then proceeds to ask them to store it closer to them.
It may be an elitist thought, but I put in 25,000+ miles a year BIS (butt in seat) and want each flight to be as painless as possible. Nothing worse than getting to your seat and finding all of the luggage bins up front full and all of the empty ones in the back (whereas the back of the plane is full and the front is empty).
getting of the plane is also one of these things. The plane has not yet come to a standstill and people are already getting up to get their handluggage. And they just stand there for 15 minutes until they can actually get of the plane. I don't understand why people just not stay seated ....
I'm not sure what's so confusing about all of this. Some people prefer to stand after a flight, and some prefer to remain seated and either wait for the entire plane to empty or wait for their turn. It's called preference. I don't understand why people stay seated when everyone is deplaning, but to each their own.

no they don't prefer to stand, most of them seem afraid that they won't get of the plane and that they will end up in Uzbekistan

Honestly, how are you able to determine this state of fear among so many from a distance?

I do that because I fly Southwest. The whole free seating thing really blows if you're group C or come to boarding gate late, especially for long flights. Considering that Southwest Airline is the largest domestic airline by # of passengers carried it's safe to assume that most people fly Southwest and thus have developed such lining-up mentality.
Haha, my parents did this a week ago when I went to to New York City. I told them why do you want to stand in line and go "relax" in the airplane. I'd rather wait outside and be the last person on.Originally posted by: freegeeks

I had this lady with a baby on my last flight and as soon as she got near her seat, which was separated from her baby's seat. She begin to talk really loud and told people to move. She had this smug look on her face and continued to loudly say, "I HAVE A BABY!".-some people are convinced that they are in a five star resort the moment they enter a plane and start nagging the flight attendant for stupid stuff all the time. You are in cattleclass just like the rest of us so stop pretending that you are the sjeik of Brunei in your private jumbo jet.

I shouldn't have to listen to some dumb bitch because the airlines didn't sit her baby next to her.

I've heard about that in another thread, but haven't seen it first hand. It sounds really dumb. I wonder if they clap for the cabby?

?
United always boarded back to front when I flew.
First class and business first, then people with small children.
Last few rows, then next few, etc etc...
