Uniforms is a bit much and most schools do have some sort of dress code in place. You also have to realize that there are a lot of families out there that can not afford to nicely dress their children.Originally posted by: Riprorin
I can't believe the way some kids dress to go to school.
Geez, all schools should have uniforms or at the very least, a dress code.

Uniforms are cheaper for parents, especially when kids demand the latest designer fashions.

It may be cheaper for parents who buy their children all the new expensive trendy crap, but there are still those parents who would be unable to afford them.Originally posted by: Riprorin

What makes you think you will be wearing a suit everyday once you get a job?Personally I like to dress up, it makes me feel more confident, its comfortable, and hell I'm going to be wearing a suit everyday once I get into the real world, why not start my last year of high school?
So because you pay school taxes you feel that entitles you to tell others how to dress?Originally posted by: Riprorin

define dressing like a slob... dressing punkish? dressing full down in baggy nike athletic gear, rapper style? bandanas, those type of accessories? Maybe your just out of style and you think the fashion of today is "slobbish". Or do you just mean a old dirty white shirt and baggy pair of faded jeans? Backwards hat?

I was going to ask the same thing, and more importantly....he wears a suit to highschool? Talk about asking for a beating...Originally posted by: minendo

I'm sorry, but the uber-serious "Jr Executive Business Man" guys in my high school who wore suits and carried briefcases (there were a couple of these guys) were about as popular as lepers. I'd advise you enjoy the freedom of not wearing a monkey suit while you still can.Originally posted by: minendo

Correct. We had a strict dress code in my high school (choice of 3 solid color polo/oxford shirts, choice of 2 colors of solid slacks), and buying those clothes were not cheap. Not to mention something to wear after school, weekends, and of course, summer.Originally posted by: Geekbabe
Uniforms are NOT cheaper because you've still got to buy the kid halfway decent things to wear during off school hours and for special occasions. You end up buying uniforms+street clothing.
hahahhaha. That reminds me of a kid who used to wear a suit in ELEMENTARY school. He always played football in it and it would get all dirty, then the kids would beat him up. Anyways, he ended up wearing a suit for the rest of the year until he moved. He must of had some wacky parents.Originally posted by: werk
