I'm Hindu, but every year, my family celebrates it to an extent with family get togethers, and the exchanging of gifts, and of course the decorations.

It's kinda hard to avoid it in the U.S., especially when the whole Christmas thing is shoved down your throat since Kindergarten. In class, during this time of year, there'll be Christmas stories, and activities and what not, and the kids will be bragging about what they will get and the things they'll do, so any decent parent will just play along so their kid won't feel left out, even if they're not christian, and get their kids presents and do other Christmas crap.

My own family has stopped with the decorations (tree, lights, etc.) since highschool, but I still expect gifts every year. :)

I do not intend to force my humanist beliefs down my offspring's throat and if they are free to believe whatever they want about whatever issue.
Even if they wanted to have sex at 13!?!?

I'll tell you what, if I had it to do over again I'd be starting not much after that. As it is I first held hands/kissed/dated/had sex at 16. Wouldn't have been much difference a year or two earlier. Before high school would be a bit ewww for me, but otherwise I'm all for it. So far sex has been about the second best thing in life. I have no right to deprive anyone else of that.
