Your thyroid fell out.

Stopped by to say this. Wife tried making us all eat 'healthier' with some Dr. Oz b.s., before long I couldn't hardly do anything. Went to the REAL doctor, blood test, thyroid problems. Turns out, iodized salt is pretty important, what with the thyroid/iodine connection. Within a week of salty goodness I was back to just being worn out from work. Now if only there was something I could eat to fix that problem. (In before 'bullet')

I'm only 32 yo. My job is going great and actually making the most I have in my life. My marriage life is going well too.

WTF is going on? Right now it's a slow season at my job, nothing much going on and little stress. Pretty easy. I also have good relationships with my coworkers and boss.

Then why do I come home and want to do absolutely nothing? Wife and I love to travel, but I also mostly look forward to do absolutely nothing over the weekend. I just like to play some games and chill before kids are born.

It's not just physical energy but emotional too. I crave going out with friends sometimes, but mostly I just want to do nothing.

Good job, good wife, etc... why do I just feel blah? Days are going by...

Seasonal diffaction disorder, you need a light box.

You need a trip to SE Asia without your wife. Leave her at home, and tell her it's all business.

I think that Zeze needs more Atotcoin. Once he's a cryptocurrency tycoon like me, life will suddenly be more exciting!

Btw I have a friend that was in a similar situation and she started taking DHEA and said it worked like gangbusters. Worth a shot.

You have what is called dysthymia. Common in males. It's a nice way of saying constant mild depression.

Was going to suggest this. I recently got it (well unofficially diagnosed but I'm almost positive it was that), won't go into details, I'm just glad I did something about it fast enough or I would have probably been on the news. Long story short I think I need to work less night shifts and stop going to bed so late so I can get up before sun set, and try to get more sun, even in winter. Days here are super short so need to do everything to get more vitamin D. Supplements alone are probably not enough. Need to socialize more too and overall do more activities with people. I just got complacent with a simple easy life style and it caught up with me. But me too in the past few years I don't really have motivation to do much and procrastinate a lot. I still need to work on that part so I don't get another episode.

Waiting for bloodwork results to see if anything odd shows up. I'm kinda hoping it's something physical. Easier to treat than something mental.

Guys this was 4 years ago, nice necro.

But it was good to re-read this. I have no choice but to have lots of energy due to kids. And too busy to think about being bored LOL.

OP, welcome to mid-life. You may be having a crisis. Sounds like a combination of boredom, a lack of challenges, and been-there-done-that.

Diet + Exercise + Mindset

Diet: Eating the standard American diet is shit. That would be eating a high carb, high protein, junk food based diet. We are now seeing 20 somethings with low testosterone levels. Get rid of the junk food, sugary foods and drinks, etc. What your meat consumption. Drink water. Also, I'd like to point out the effects that caffeine has on our adrenal glands. It's pretty bad and will cause you to become sluggish. In my case, I've brought down my caffeine to about 30 grams a day. My goal is to give my adrenal glands a break. Also, get in more good fats like olive oil, coconut oil and avacodas I've done everything I've mentioned and I feel great. Had blood work and my t levels are high. Blood work is looking really good. I eat high fat, low carbs and extremely low sugar meals.

Exercise: Working out 4 or more days a week will bring back much of the energy you're missing. Exercise doesn't make you tired. That's a myth. You will have so much energy it's crazy. I go to bed at 9pm, wake up at 4am and hit the gym. No excuses. I do mostly free weights mixed in with the occasional cardio

Mindset: in my case, this is mediation. I meditate about 10 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes in the evening. I'm able to relieve so many negative thoughts. About negative thoughts. The average person has over between 12-60k a day. Over 80% are negative. Condition yourself to think more positively, because thinking negatively will cause your body to drain more energy which will cause you to be tired. Eliminate things like watching the news as well. It's negative and will effect your stamina over the day.

My opinion. Of course, get sleep. If you are truly getting enough sleep you shouldn't be using an alarm. Good luck.

I'm in a much better state - kids give me incredibly joy and exhaustion.

I think I just need to get over the fact that the wonder years are behind me. That doesn't mean I want to go back to the old days. I still think I'm peaking (I'm making ATH salary) and LOVE the things I'll go through with my kids growing together.

I just can't believe I'm not in my 20s. It's weird. I'm not in despair. I love my current life, although I wish I had my friends here (I moved from Boston).

But I find myself looking at my old pictures in 20s and saying, "holy cow, where did the time go?"

i have felt this way for years, since i was 27

so if you find out why you feel like that, let me know!
Yeah pretty much the same here (for at least 5-6 years; I'm 35). I don't even feel like playing games anymore, I just wanna watch videos/movies/etc. I've tried a few different depression meds but they didn't do anything and one had an uncomfortable side effect so I stopped them. I get a yearly physical, which includes a blood test, but I don't think they check testosterone.

You must not get much done being awake for only 5 hours a day.

It's best to try to get 8 hours of sleep, no more, no less. Oversleeping can be just as bad as not getting enough sleep. On the days that I sleep in too much I tend to feel sluggish the whole day. It's a habit I'm trying to break out of and switching to mostly day shifts will help as on my days off I'll still be in day shift mode.

Wow, 19 hours per day of sleep!

Sorry for picking on you. This is a necro thread but honestly, lots of good advice from you.

LOL, I changed it.

I know not everyone will agree. It's just my opinion, but I'd like to think rest, exercise, diet and mindset are things to consider. Also, we all know what to do. But, will you do them. That's the difficult part.
