Why do cops obsess over red cars!?! :(

I've been getting these bull**** speeding tickets lately, wtf. Eight points in 1 month. And I never ever got a speeding ticket before this month...

I see SUV's speeding like crazy right in front of me, but the cops keep tailing my shiny red car instead. I never had this problem when I drove my ugly silver civic sedan....

Guess who won't be buying a WRX anytime soon.

my wagon is red. I never got a speeding ticket, but 2 other people who took the wheel got nailed 78 over 65 and 80 over 65. I think my car is cursed for whoever drives my car except me. lol

It's just a slow '99 civic...nothing special, but it looks pretty damn good IMHO. They probably think i'm some ricer kid (even though the car's stock).

but anyway I read years ago something from the insurance industry that red cars get more tickets and get in more accidents.

If your car isn't brand f%$#ing new then it's painfully obvious the cops are picking on you for some reason or another. 3 miles per hour is roughly how far off the average speedometer is. No, I don't have any solid data on that, but empirically that's what I've noticed.

Where were you? If you're in a red civic (which only means ricer to some people...regardless), and you're in one of those small townships where their entire economy is based off of speeding tickets, parking tickets and jaywalking fines, then you may as well just bend over.

cops zone in on sports cars, ESPECIALLY red ones. sports cars are more aerodynamic than SUVs/minivans and shorter so they look as if they're going faster, too. i'm in california and needed to get to my friend's graduation in sacramento, 2 1/2 hours away, going at 75mph. instead of taking the stick-shift car, i took the minivan and was weaving at 90mph easy with not one cop to bother me. i got there in under 2 hours and

I love threads about speeding on ATOT. All of these people come out and act like they never speed.

We all know that the overwhelming majority of people speed. Some a bit, some a lot, but there are VERY few people that do not speed.

As far as getting a ticket goes: were you speeding? If so, then you knew the risks of getting a ticket. I've gotten a speeding ticket before. Did I deserve it? Yep, I was speeding.
