Why didn't Trump condemn white supremacists?

I don't think it's dementia. I think he has trouble controlling his base instincts, which is never to criticize those who seem to like him. In the heat of the moment, he's acting on his most core personality trait: his narcissism. What did he say when recently asked about qanon? "I don't know much about them, but they sure do seem to like me." Just look at how many times his statements in the past have had to be walked back or else "clarified" by his surrogates. It's no different here.

Trump lacks self-control.
I do agree that his primary issue is that he lacks self control and cannot stand it when anyone is able to force him to do something - it causes him to petulantly lash out.

Perhaps if MSM would focus on the many times he has already done this, instead lying and saying he's never done it, it wouldnt come up? Its ridiculous.

Almost as ridiculous as Trump constantly flip flopping on it, and being uncomfortable while even grazing by saying it lol

Until they break the law, what, pray tell could he do?

They have broken the law. White supremacists and militia types have repeatedly murdered people, going back decades.

Why is the Trump administration sanitizing internal reports which say that extreme right wing groups are by far the biggest terrorist threat right now? Can you answer that question?

I support their right to peacefully assemble, and I support their right to free speech. I dont support them if it goes beyond that, as it then turns criminal.
He didn't ask you if you supported their rights. He asked if you supported them. When someone asks you if you support our firefighters or our police or our military, do you respond by saying you support their rights? No, because that would make you look like a fucking fool. Of course you support their fucking rights. We all support everyone's rights. Do you support them? Answer the question if you can.

I agree they have. But in most cases its not a federal crime, but a local one. I dont know the stats of how many murders and crimes theyve committed that werent prosecuted, do you? Currently domestic terrorism isnt codified into federal law as a crime, so thats the first thing to fix. So Ill ask again. What could we do federally to enforce domestic terrorism if if isnt even codified into federal law?

.

As far as your second point, I dont have an answer, as I havent read much about it.

Can you cite an instance where he's denounced white supremacists, using his own words? Not reading something else someone wrote (and yes, you know the difference). He had the most relevant opportunity to do so last night, and didn't. Hence my query.

Frankly I dont know as Ive never read their manifestos or dug deep enough to know. Assuming youre correct, thats illegal, and I hope whenever they do that they are prosecuted to the fullest extend of the law. I really dont give two shits what they say or do, until they break the law.

It doesn't require any form of manifesto, it's an inherent feature of the ideology. Think about it. How can any racial/ethnic group achieve supremacy over other groups without forcibly oppressing the rights of those other groups? And if those other groups choose not to comply with their own oppression, like any sane people would do, like BLM is doing, then what? Violence, obviously. And as happens so many times in these cases, that violence is being committed largely by the govt, led by a President who wants us to believe that 'law and order' allows the govt to break the law by infringing on constitutional rights.

I think if their goal and agenda is to cause harm to others or disrupt the economy, then fuck no. Is that clear enough?

Wait a second. If what we're talking about is federal crime versus local, why is Trump all over the violence in these protests and condemning "antifa" for them? Trump has tweeted about or said "antifa" over 100 times this year alone. In spite of no death so far being attributed to them.

You can say it. It isn't hard. Trump doesn't like condemning right wing extremists because it just isn't his preferred political narrative.

No. We're not asking if you support them after they've broken the law. We're asking you if you support them. People who aren't trying to play semantic games commonly understand this to be the same as asking if you support their ideals. So, do you support their ideals?

WTF man I answered that in the post you quoted! Do you know what fuck no means?

you know each of those 17 examples have links you can click to get the source, right?
Yes, and the 'source' of each is his twitter feed. Trump has a long-standing history of saying one thing on twitter/in prepared statements, and saying another in 'casual' conversation (shit to reporters, F&F, etc). I don't trust the validity of his coherent twitter statements, nor of his prepared statements. I trust his unprepared statements, as they reflect his actual person.

OK you didnt click any of the links. The first 3 for example are not twitter feeds, and theres a couple press briefings and candid videos. I can only point you to the sources but I cant click for you.

I tried to tell blackie that. Any quote with good sentence structure is not him. He's just reading it. You can tell that from his Twitter feed. Reading a prepared statement just gives him deniability. What he blurts out is what he really feels.

Sorry, I didn't click all of them. I clicked about a half dozen and they were all twitter feeds. Apparently I got the wrong ones.

Agreed. His candid answers are the least intelligible ones, or what he says to actual reporters (not F&F&F&F&F).

Once? LOL

1) “I am concerned about the rise of any group of hate. I don’t like it, any group of hate, whether its white supremacy, whether it’s any other kind of supremacy, whether its antifa… I am very concerned about it and I’ll do something about it.” – Business Insider, 8/7/2019
2) “The shooter in El Paso posted a manifesto online consumed by racist hate. In one voice, our nation must condemn racism, bigotry, and white supremacy. These sinister ideologies must be defeated. Hate has no place in America. Hatred warps the mind, ravages the heart, and devours the soul. We have asked the FBI to identify all further resources they need to investigate and disrupt hate crimes and domestic terrorism – whatever they need.” – National Review, 8/06/2019
3) “The riots in Charlottesville a year ago resulted in senseless death and division,” Trump posted on Twitter Saturday morning. “We must come together as a nation. I condemn all types of racism and acts of violence. Peace to ALL Americans!” – USA Today, 8/11/2018
4) “I want to applaud the many protestors in Boston who are speaking out against bigotry and hate. Our country will soon come together as one!” – Trump Tweet, 8/19/2017
5) “We will reject bigotry and hatred and oppression in all its forms, and seek a new future built on our common culture and values as one American people.” – Washington Examiner, 6/16/2016
6) “I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and white nationalists because they should be condemned totally.” – Trump in his famous remarks about Charlottesville, 8/15/2017
7) “Racism is evil, and those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans.” – NPR, 8/14/2017
8) “I don’t want to energize the (Alt-Right), and I disavow the group,” Trump told Baquet. “It’s not a group I want to energize, and if they are energized, I want to look into it and find out why.” Asked point-blank about the conference featuring (Richard) Spencer, Trump again disavowed any support. “I disavow and condemn them,” Trump told Times reporters. He did chide them for continuing to ask about the topic though, telling one questioner: “Boy, you are really into [this issue].” – Politico, 11/22/2016
9) “I don’t like any group of hate. Hate groups are not for me. How many times do I have to reject? I’ve rejected David Duke. I’ve rejected the KKK, the Ku Klux Klan, from the time I’m five-years-old.” – The Washington Examiner, 3/6/2016
10) “I totally disavow the Ku Klux Klan. I totally disavow David Duke.” – The Hill, 3/3/2016
11) “David Duke is a bad person, who I disavowed on numerous occasions over the years,” Trump said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “I disavowed him. I disavowed the KKK,” Trump added. “Do you want me to do it again for the 12th time? I disavowed him in the past, I disavow him now.” – CNN, 3/3/2016
12) “David Duke and all was disavowed. I disavowed him on Friday. I disavowed them right after that because I thought if there was any question and you take a look at Twitter, almost immediately after on Twitter and Facebook, they were disavowed again. I disavow him every time I speak to somebody virtually and they just keep it going.” – ABC, 3/1/2016
13) “I disavowed David Duke a day before in a major press conference, and I’m saying to myself: How many times do I have to continue to disavow people…” – NBC, 2/29/2016
14) “David Duke endorsed me? OK, alright. I disavow, OK?” – The Hill, 2/26/2016
15) “I don’t need (David Duke’s) endorsement; I certainly wouldn’t want his endorsement.” – Politico, 8/26/2015
16) “Well, you’ve got David Duke just joined (the Reform Party) – a bigot, a racist, a problem. I mean, this is not exactly the people you want in your party.” – NBC News, 2/24/2000
17) “I’ve had the chance to learn firsthand about the diversity of American culture, and it has left me with little appetite for those who hate or preach intolerance. One of our next president’s most important goals must be to induce a greater sense of tolerance for diversity.” – Donald Trump in his book, The America We Deserve, published 1/12/200
