lobby group?

In October 2014, "Rep. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., [got] a huge boost in his battle against incumbent Sen. Mark Pryor, D-Ark., in the midterm November elections — a donation of $700,000 from the Emergency Committee for Israel (ECFI).

By the way, Rep. Tom Cotton is a Freshman. He has 0 experience on the "Hill."
Meanwhile, the founder of ECFI was also an architect of the Iraq Invasion! He was also one of the founding members of the NeoCon Think-tank: Project For A New American Century (PNAC). Ladies & Gentleman....(re)Introducing: "Bill Kristol!"

The Emergency Committee for Israel is a right-wing political advocacy organization in the United States. As was stated they were just backing their pick for an election ( long before any letter was drafted or even thought of ). Nothing ties them to any letter to Iran.

OP is BS, just like always.

Dear Rep. Tom Cotton:

Welcome to the world of being used and abused due to your being a bottom feeding whipping boy, canon fodder, all around go-fer and sacrificial lamb for your senior party colleagues to abuse at their leisure.

Now that you have been thoroughly humiliated, disgraced and lambasted by the whole world, including being schooled by the very folks you had wished to educate in the ways of American politics, I wish for you every single thing that you deserve and more for being the good little toadstool that your seniors sat and farted upon with glee.

To pay homage to your courageous act, I will also fart in your general direction, and please accept my most deepest and most heartfelt condolences for your getting voted into office.

A most satisfied voter that would never ever vote for you......ever.

Google "Emergency committee for Israel Tom Cotton" to find coverage by the Drudge Report, Daily Kos & others.

Cotton emerges as a paid Israeli shill.

Astoundingly lame. When the Godfather of the Neocons does you a favor, it's understood that you will reciprocate, many times over.

Look up the campaign contribution rules OP.

That lobby could not have given Cotton $700k.

Here is a chart with the limits, they range from $2,000 - $5,000.

So, either the DoJ is not doing its job or the article is misleading.

As you know full well, there are other ways to buy politicians support campaigns besides direct contributions to the candidates: http://realtime.influenceexplorer.com/committee/emergency-committee-for-israel/C90013244/

It was spent on "supportive campaign advertising" thru a supposedly "independent" political group. It's the same sort of arrangement that helped Scott Walker & others-

At least it wasn't something like the U.S. state department possibly giving U.S. taxpayer funded grants to a non-profit whose subsidiary in Israel is seeking to oust Netenyahu.

You would be hard pressed to find a single member of congress who did not do something on behalf of a large campaign donor.

What are you talking about, specifically?

You would be hard pressed to find a single member of congress who did not do something on behalf of a large campaign donor.

And you'd be hard pressed to find a better example of the Israeli tail wagging the American dog than this episode.

It's a little conspiracy he picked up at conspiraciesR'us. Don't bother asking for details or facts to back his claim because he doesn't have a way to post links to his gut.

Cotton was a freshman representative from 2013 to 2015. Now he is a freshman senator who has two years experience as a representative.

Cotton is just making his bones for AIPAC & the rest. I'm sure they have high hopes for the guy or they wouldn't have provided him with the opportunity. He articulates the company line backwards & forwards in a very fluent way.

That's nothing new, all the politicians in DC are bought and paid for by lobbyists. This one just happened to be owned by the Jews. When you've got billionaires like Sheldon Adelson pouring their wealth into this sort of endeavor then you get results like this stupid letter and the GOP congress licking Netanyahu's boots. Democracy in the US is an illusion, your votes don't mean shit.

Did any one catch the turtle's interview on CNN this morning? It was basically him repeating the same talking point over and over, he wouldn't answer any questions at all pertaining to the letter.

I've been reading about this issue for some time now in foreign news sites. Seemed like the US media was going to ignore it completely.

BTW: The non-profits are staffed with Obama's campaign officials. And this has been somewhat of a campaign issue in Israel. IIRC, I read about a poll last week or so where 62% (or something close) of Israeli's do believe Obama/US is meddling in their elections. As you can imagine, Obama's claim that he could not meet with Netanyahu etc because he didn't want to appear to influence Israeli elections was met with guffaws and rolley-eyes in some foreign media.

Israel is one country that routinely and brazenly exercises their influence over US policy. It's become sickening.
