I've been reading about this issue for some time now in foreign news sites. Seemed like the US media was going to ignore it completely.

BTW: The non-profits are staffed with Obama's campaign officials. And this has been somewhat of a campaign issue in Israel. IIRC, I read about a poll last week or so where 62% (or something close) of Israeli's do believe Obama/US is meddling in their elections. As you can imagine, Obama's claim that he could not meet with Netanyahu etc because he didn't want to appear to influence Israeli elections was met with guffaws and rolley-eyes in some foreign media.

Rudder made vague allusions earlier. When questioned, he wandered off. Now you're making the same sort of argument with the same lack of references. Without them, you merely repeat scurrilous bullshit.

That's not really surprising, but it is painfully obvious.

TBH, I haven't met anyone who thinks Obama somehow cares about the elections or does something to manipulate them.
I did meet a lot of idiots who would vote for Emperor Bibi even if he fucked them in the ass with no lube.

FFS, it's all over the internet. I'm not your tutor or valet. Use google. Pro-Tip (free of charge) you might want to occasionally wander away from you DNC approved sites to get some real news. Try foreign sites. Since this about Israeli elections you may want to consider an Israeli news site in English. Again, google is your friend.

The last Israeli poll I read about said 62% of your countrymen thought Obama was trying to influence the election.

You are aware of the group named V15? Right? They're a subsidiary of OneVoice Movement, a Washington DC nonprofit funded by the State Dept.

Otherwise, I realize you guys are probably concerned about stuff: the economy, housing costs/availability etc. At least that's what hearing/reading over here.
---------

Has Herzog made any mention of his recent meeting with Kerry/Biden? I.e., some sort of claim that he (Herzog) can restore relations with the USA/Obama?

It's your contention, and your obligation to back it up.

Those are the basic rules of engagement in civil discourse.

We both know that, so please proceed.

After allowing a civil interval for your reply, I did just what you suggested & looked it up.

The source of the "concerns" over interference in Israeli elections don't originate in the foreign press at all. They come from Congressional Repubs & Fox News-

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...r-obama-administration-funded-effort-to-oust/

The same people attempting to interfere with Israeli politics by inviting Netanyahu just ahead of his election contest and the same people backing up his fearmongering with an open letter to Iran, which obviously impacts Israeli politics.

And, of course, Repubs aren't actually accusing the Admin because they have no evidence but rather supposition & innuendo, generally just as good when pandering to their base & the Israeli Right.

The actual evidence of their own interference is completely obvious, however.

Look up the campaign contribution rules OP.

That lobby could not have given Cotton $700k.

Here is a chart with the limits, they range from $2,000 - $5,000.
http://www.fec.gov/pages/brochures/contriblimits.shtml

So, either the DoJ is not doing its job or the article is misleading.

As you know full well, there are other ways to buy politicians support campaigns besides direct contributions to the candidates: http://realtime.influenceexplorer.com/committee/emergency-committee-for-israel/C90013244/
I'm bumping this since Fern continues to dishonestly conflate direct campaign contributions with all the other ways deep pockets can funnel money to support politicians. As the above disclosure clearly shows, it is not only possible, but common. See the Obama mandatory voting thread for his latest example: http://forums.anandtech.com/showpost.php?p=37265781&postcount=146 .

In many other threads you argue incessantly over the subtlest of nuance in wording. Yet here you blithely dismiss an obvious and egregious falsehood: That the money was given to him.

You realize that PACs (which may have received the money - we don't know because the two articles are so woefully inaccurate) cannot, by law, coordinate etc with candidates.

Furthermore, if you'll look up his opponent you'll see he was a consistent and strong supporter of Israel. Other then the "R" or "D" label I can't find any significant policy difference between the two. The Dem was actually that conservative. Looks to me like the Cotton donation was made simply to help ensure the Repubs took control of the Senate.

I haven't had time to sufficiently respond in all threads I'm engaged in. If I find the time I'll hunt it up and respond. Seems rather pointless though, you continue to supply more ample opportunity for us to point out what a moron you are. One more won't matter much.

I never claimed the money was given directly to Cotton. That's a straw man. Here's what I said: "As you know full well, there are other ways to buy politicians support campaigns besides direct contributions to the candidates." I then proceeded to document this.

Of course PAC's & 503(c)4 organizations can't coordinate with candidates. They don't need to when they all get their marching orders from the same place. That's what reveals it all as coy posturing, A sham. Repubs simply coordinate at a higher level.

One of the Godfathers of the Neocons did him a huge favor. He'll do his best to show that he's worthy, ya know? They share the same ideology & the same military authoritarian bent as the Israelis so they all work together to stay in power & beat Obama! no matter what he's doing.
