Just look at Ostriches! Quite a few giant flightless birds existed even recently but have went extinct. The Moa family, with the Giant Moa (larger than the Ostrich), and a few similar birds.

The Ostrich just screams "dinosaur" everywhere, except for it's lack of teeth. But millions of years can change little things like that. :)
It's powerful legs and the way the feet and legs look, are almost creepy how much they seem like living fossils.

I thought the same thing when I happened upon this picture at Wikipedia.
