Cheddar is good on a baked potatoe or on cheese fries. Especially with bacon. Cheddar also makes a damn good grilled cheese sandwich.

Man, I've heard plenty of BS about milk lately. On a local radio show, they were talking about what was in milk nowadays, and one guy who called in believed that girls develop larger breasts at younger ages now because of the hormones in milk! 🙂 Not that that's a bad thing! 😛

Woot first to post the Simpson Quote!

"Mmmmm...sixty-three slices of American cheese...."

PS: did I remember the number correct? 😱 shame on me.......been a while since I've watched the show

Try Kraft Deli Delux, it is real good stuff!

If I remember right, prosessed cheese is about 85% to 95% real cheese, the other bing milk or something, I forget now.

JB.. Your problem is Aruba....

Every thing is fake in Aruba except the salt water & the fish...

hmm cheese, i do like a good feta cheese, and mozzeralla. . is ok;
american, is too wierd,
and recently i tried moteray jack, and its rubbery like mozzerella.
chedder on a burger, now that sounds good.. .but chili with monteray and a decent sharp chedder. . .. .mmmmmm
what other good cheeses, farm fresh is best, I know a farm in upstate newyork that doesn't produce for the public that makes some spectacular sharp cheddar i think. no it wasn't sharp but it was good, gotta get some more. . . droolllllllllll.

I gotta go with Russ here, cheddar, with some bacon and a dousing of BBQ sauce makes for the ultimate burger.

As for "slabs" of American Cheese - It's called Velveeta.

If you want to make a good and easy to make sandwich, buy some of that Kraft Mexican cheese, throw it together with some ham, and toast it on the stove. MMMmmmmm....yummy.

Since the original post I did manage to find a slab of good 'ole American at the supermarket. However I didn't buy it. There was no freshness date and it was sitting in a non-refrigerated area. Too many "red flags".

But I have discovered Provolone which is most excellent! It's similar to mottzie but actually has flavor. Good shtuff.

biggien you're right, or a newbie dragged it up. . . but you just found provalone man??? heh. . italian cheese. ok stuff, can get funky fast though

BiggieN, I dragged it up looking for cheese post...

But I have to say that American Cheese is a timeless subject that should never just go away!

Keep the cheese alive!
