Why can't I have multiple wives?

I mean from a legal standpoint. Like... all these gay people are starting to get rights. It's okay for women to marry women and men to do wierd shit in women's bathrooms so who is it making the call that I can't have more than one wife?

You might think this is an L&R post but really it's about the legality of having multiple.

If I am capable of finding multiple mates why can't I do that? Legally married to all of them. I can pump out like 30 kids and get my tax credits like anybody else? There are more women in the world than men anyways, who is going to take care of all those women? I will I say. I will.

Dude scores some blue pills and thinks he's John Holmes.

No. I was just thinking how beneficial it would be for both parties. The woman would get a man to take care of her and I would get more benefits from having more wives. I mean I'm pretty sure from an evolutionary standpoint this was done for hundreds of thousands of years, why are we backing out now?

Scenario where this would be beneficial 1:
Wife is being a *!&#, and I don't want to be around it so I just go to the bedroom with wife #2.

Scenario where this would be beneficial 2:
I've been asking wife #1 for a lot of favors lately (sammiches, back scratches etc), and so to lighten her load I ask wife #2 to watch the kids while I go see a movie.

See how that works? What is the big deal?

Think you could support two ex-wives when they eventually divorce you for obvious reasons?

part of the purpose of marriage is to simplify legal issues not complicate them, which having multiple parties involved in everything from child custody to probate will do

also it will cause there to be a large group of frustrated men who can't get women, which tends to have a variety of negative impacts on society

The practice exists and isn't uncommon in many cultures and religions, as it relates to gay marriage in the USA turns on some fine points of court decisions whether they pave the way or have little effect.

Question to ask is what is the states compelling interest in forbidding more than one wife?

I think my wife having a second husband would work out better. That way I'd only have to put up with half her shit.

Oh wow. You should start with one wife. Give that tactic a try. You'll be divorced so fast you will literally get whiplash.

Why in the world would you want 2 wives? Seriously.

1 is enough to handle and chances are high you would fail at that OP

Only legit thing i can imagine is the potential legal nightmare it could cause upon death or somethign like that. But im fine with it personally if that is what consenting adults want to do.

You can't have more than one wife for the same reason it's technically illegal to commit suicide. If you have one pain in the ass, you don't go out and get another one!

There are many advantages to having more than one wife. Obviously some of the previous posters appear to have difficulty with just one. For them, one is enough or perhaps too much.

ADVANTAGES
1) Women tend to like women better. They can sit and gossip about the most mundane things all day and night while you watch sports.
2) Less chores around the house when you divide it among 3 spouses instead of two.
3) More money for new cars, possessions, vacations when you have 3 incomes instead of just two.
4) Procreation is easier, and taking care of a baby or two divided by three becomes much easier.
5) The best reason is: You will become the envy of every guy out there when you tell them you are living with two women. Normally the first thing they say is the TV show Three's Company.

Polygamy is legal in many religions, in many countries, etc. You will have to do your research to find out which is easiest for you. I use to live with two women in my younger college days and the benefits way outweighed any problems. No it wasn't a wild orgy every night. We lived in a two bedroom home and each woman had their own bedroom. They were not lesbians. We were all just looking for an easier and more comfortable lifestyle and it did work.
