almost always survive that full clip of ammo you shot into them? it's so annoying.
the most recent game with this problem is Crysis. msot of the koreans are obviously not wearing any kind of body armor at all, yet they take forever to kill.

feel free to add your own ending to the question in the title.

Quick checklist for easier kills in Crysis: Remove silencer. Apply super strength. Take aimed shots at their heads. (not saying you're not doing these things... just checking)

Why can bad guys in FPS games... react *instantly* to your presence?
Why can bad guys in FPS games... see you through such thick jungle?
Why can bad guys in FPS games... maintain 100% combat effectiveness until the bitter end?

Inciendary ammo for the FY71 kills them in about two shots regardless of where you shoot them.

Reduces recoil and drift, but unless you are using a sniper scope it doesn't help that much. I use the laser attachments for close range and just pop their heads when the red dot lights them up. Unless you use a scope the laser won't drift so it makes it really easy to get head shots in a fire fight.

Maybe you aren't actually hitting them with every shot of your mag? :)

This isn't Quake II where every shot from your rifle goes perfectly straight and hits it's target instantly.

not an FPS but you'd haaaaaate Stranglehold, it has that old arcade boss shit where they take forever to kill. I was fighting one of them and hit him with about 10 shots from my rocket launcher, maybe 100 rounds from my uzi and a bunch of shotgun shells. It than when to a cut scene and he was still alive. Ended up dying during it.

Far Cry had that stupid ass part with the dude in the helicopter shooting at you from the open side door, you could hit him with rockets dead on and it still took forever to kill him.

COD4 Hardcore mode FTW. Or COD2, even. No more than 2 shots, 3 if you're unlucky.

Yeah but you are supposed to be the most ultra-elite soldier in existence, at least in Crysis, so you'd think your character's marksmanship would be pretty excellent.

Anyway, in Cysis, I've found that they go down much, much faster if you don't use the silencer. So you gotta decide whether you want stealth or accuracy/power.

i don't know, doesn't seem like the silencer helps that much. i shot a guy with the sleeping dart thing and then shot him once in the head with my silenced rifle. all his buddies came running to kill me.

-and you could not stop or it would regenerate ... i ended up using my left hand to push my [exhausted] right hand fingers on the mouse buttons
:Q

i was that exhausted after about 1/2 hour of continuous firing
[and you still have to shoot the orbs it send after your]

Why can the bots in AA (in Co-op maps) wildly miss you 6 times and then land a perfect headshot?

That and they take like 5 shots to kill.

Why can't my Anti-tank weapon kill tanks?

How can I shoot a 203, watch it explode on the wall about 5 ft from a bot, and the bot doesn't take any damage?

Why can't I run with the bi-pod down?

Granted, it's still a fun game for the PvP action, and the feedback in the forums suggests that much of this stuff will be fixed in 3.0.

Yeah... the ballistics in the game are not so good. I think the dev's did this to 'balance' the game.

I know of at least one ballistics mod for Crysis @ Crymod.com already and there may be others out there or in the making.

You want the real truth ?
Because if they made it realistic, where one shot disables, two shots kills, the game would be very short.

I've noticed a trend in games of late that in order to lengthen the game they up the difficulty by making enemies harder to kill.

Games that suffered from this recently.

Moh: Airborne - super nazi soldiers , which I think hurt the image of the game using the airborne name. Was fairly realistic till then.

Cod4: - lots of areas where length was extended by 'super soldiers'

Of course crysis.

Not an FPS, but Splinter Cell used that formula (although it took 3/4 rounds for fisher to die), and the game was anything but short.

Hey, it's only fair. Your character in most games can take a major ass kicking before dying, including several head shots. Surely the bad guys are like "wtf, I shot him in both eyes!"

I didn't notice any super soldiers in CoD4. Two shots to the chest or 1 head shot will kill just about anyone in the game.

But as for Crysis, 1 headshot kills enemies on any difficulty. But what's this about taking off the silencer? I always use it, and head shots always kill in 1 shot.

yeah COD4 was basically the perfect mix of arcade and realism. any more realistic and it would suck. and no, i did not notice any of these "super soldiers". i played on hardened

Guarenteed kills making Silenced Headshots only happen if you hit the face, if they are facing away, sometimes you just knock off the helmet

Crysis, even on Bauer difficulty, become a cakewalk once you figure out how to use stealth. simple and effective: take the FY71, mount the laser and sniper scope, and cloak. line up the headshot, switch to strength mode, take the shot, switch back to cloak mode. you can take out an entire squad without them ever knowing where you are.

you must have a different version of the game than i do because as soon as i shoot, silenced or not, they all become alert ot my presence.
