Saying you don't believe in God is not insulting whatsoever. You are stating your belief. Saying you don't believe the bible is true is also ok. Calling it a story book or book of faerie tales like so many do is making it an insult.

By saying I don't believe in it I am implying it is nothing more than a story book. I mean I obviously believe the book exists as I have seen one before. I just believe it is nothing more than a collection of stories, thus a story book.

So how is saying I don't believe in it any more insulting then saying you read a book of stories and take it as fact?

What do you get out of shitting on other people's beliefs? Does it make you happier that you believe that you are souless and going to turn into the dust in a few decades. Does it make you happier you have no purpose in your life and everythign you do, doesnt matter, becuase you'll be dead soon anyhow?

It's because of those last two sentences in your first paragraph that Atheists bash on religious people in general. It's because somehow, believe in a God of some sort magically gives you meaning in life over everything else life has to offer, and apparently being a Christian gives you that meaning

It's also fun to watch people squirm as their belief systems get torn down by science. Of course its not like I go up to a random person and tell them they're wrong. It's when they start talking shit about evolution and sciences is when the fun starts.

I don't spend a lot of time debating Christians about their particular soteriological beliefs, for example, or their beliefs about the hypostatic union, or protestantism vs catholocism, etc. That's all part of their little narrative and if they aren't making claims about things that actually exist, I'm not going care.

Once they start claiming that biological organisms aren't related via common anscestry and/or the universe is at most ~10K years old, their silly beliefs are gonna be met with the derision they deserve, however.

Pretty much. I am going to enjoy my little time on this earth and then give back to it when i die as worm food to continue the cycle of life. I am fine with that. I dont need anymore then what i have in front of me in this world. You can go to your golden paved roads in the sky if that makes you feel you have purpose or something. My purpose is to be the best human i can be and hopefully pass on some knowledge to the next generation throught my life.
