I love how its ok to believe in santa clause, easter bunny, tooth fairy etc until a certain age. Well say 10 just because. Then if a 30 year old said he beleives in the tooth fairy he would be seen as an idot. Why does this same thing not worth with religion? I sure wish it would. :p

^ This.

I do bash on Young Earth Creationists on a semi-daily basis though, but most Christians I've met find them insane too.

Scientologists too. Don't forget about them. I'm sure we all bash them too.

EDIT: POST NUMBER 4000!!!!

I can buy Scientology better than Young Earth Creationism, but yeah, they are a little looney. My gf keeps wanting to do their stress test as a joke but I'm worried about going near them.

the biggest part of atheists are passive and just don't give a shit.

Then there's a part of christians who are atheist because they don't give a shit too, but don't publicly refuse their religion. Most europeans are like this.

muslims?
militant atheists are often left-winged, and therefore they support free gaza, muslim freedoms etc. too

Muslims get enough bashing from christians already anyway.

Where do you find Athiests "bashing" on christians? The most I see is Athiests attempting to show that not everybody believes in story books...

This is either a troll response or the most naïve thing I've seen since (insert ATOT forum user name) claimed to have gotten laid.

Because Christians are fucking demented. They're oppressive and controlling by nature. Keep thy fucking make-believe fairy tale bullshit religion to thyself.

How many Atheists do you see trying to actively go out and try to recruit people to their "religion"? How many Atheists do you see actively demonstrating to restrict basic human rights from others? I could go on and on.

Every single religion in the world preaches tolerance and humility, yet it's always the religious people being the most intolerant, and trying to oppress others the most.

I'm sure most of the Atheists in the world wouldn't be bothered by religious people if they actually followed what their religions said cus then there really wouldn't be anything bad to say about them, but they don't and they practically never do. If being religious makes you a better person, then I'm all for it. Whatever excuse someone uses to be a better human being is a good thing, but that's almost never the case.

By saying I don't believe in it I am implying it is nothing more than a story book. I mean I obviously believe the book exists as I have seen one before. I just believe it is nothing more than a collection of stories, thus a story book.

So how is saying I don't believe in it any more insulting then saying you read a book of stories and take it as fact?

Because that is what etiquette is. How you say things matters. You don't need to be religious to understand what it means to be a dick about something.

They have atheist conventions just like we have Christian conventions. The difference is we talk about making the world a better place, while atheists bash religion and discuss their mutual hatred.

Oh, fuck off.

Don't pretend like there haven't been Christian congregations across the world and throughout history loudly condemning the "evils" of those damned joos, kneegrows, mooslims, homerseckshuls, libruls, catholics,Mr. Rogers, Barney the Dinosaur, and every other group that wasn't marching lockstep with their particular twisted interpretations.

Take that plank outta your eye and shove it right up your ass, you self-righteous prick.

I only bash on theists to help them see the truth. Being raised a Jehovah's Witness, I read and learned a lot about the Christian bible and other religions when I was younger. I eventually found the truth about all religions and can't decide if I should hate those that brainwashed me (and billions of others throughout history) or just feel sorry for them.

You mean the 3 day christian conventions that consist of 2 days of nothing but singing to crappy christian rock bands, half a day of seminars that discuss shit that anyone with half a brain knows about, and the other half day rallying against people choosing what they want to do?

Yes, I've been to several. During my teenage years I was an atheist but I kept my mouth shut and endured years of church and retreats and such. Those christian rallies were the most mind numbing and fucktarded things I've been to. I've never seen a greater waste of time then just standing around for two days and singing praise songs.

And there was a quiz section that stumped over 30 people young and old that I knew right off the top of my head but couldn't bring myself to say it as my insides were dying from shame.

The last 3 hours was them making us go on a 30 minute walk with about 500 people and made us shout at a casino that was being built which was compared to moses freeing the slaves from Egypt.

Christian conventions are a waste of breathing space.

As a very tolerant atheist, I find some of my atheist friends to be the most self-righteous, condescending dickheads when it comes to other people's beliefs.

Changed slightly for me to agree.

You don't spend much time in ATOT, do you? :p

Does it make you happier you have no purpose in your life and everythign you do, doesnt matter, becuase you'll be dead soon anyhow?

How is this any different than atheists bashing Christians?

If they were condemning people like that, they wouldn't be Christian

Like I said, you don't see Atheists protesting against other human beings getting their equal rights. How many Atheist channels are there? How many Atheist churches are there? How many Atheists do you see standing on the sidewalks with megaphones saying you need to believe in god or are going to hell? Religious people are the most closed minded and hateful people in the world. Christians think they have to force their beliefs on other people. Atheists only say something when religious people bring it up. Like I've already said, I have no problem with religions and religious people in general if they followed what their respective religions taught, but they NEVER do like you've shown to be in many threads as well. Pray to whoever you want, believe whatever you want, but act like a Christian is supposed to act and people would have no ammo for any of you or it wouldn't bother you since you're a real Christian and what other people say about your beliefs shouldn't phase you.

So it's ok to think your a retard and tell you your a retard as long as I'm nice about it?

Grow a thicker skin.

So I'll say it politely.

Jesus Christ never existed. There is no god. The bible is a book made up by man to control man. Religion has no place in the modern world. Fools and their freedom are easily parted.
