To the JWs a beard represents sin in a man's life.

Also for those who don't know, JWs don't have steeples b/c it represents a sexual ideation of a man's penis.

Just a few facts for you. :)
Take them as you wish.

peace

I think the more important question might be why are they encouraged to wake me up at ungodly early hours of the morning by banging on my door ?

If you really want to know our beliefs, I would suggest not going to websites to get it, but rather to ask those of us who actually practice the religion.
Though there is a website that is maintained by us at Watchtower.org and our beliefs are explained therein.

About the beard question, we arent not allowed to wear beards, but its frowned upon in this country as we want to mantain a clean appearance before everyone. In cultures where beards are more a part of the culture, then there is nothing against growing them.

That website that was posted above has some truths behind it, but it is presented in a way that does not explain our beliefs, but rather things that are a result of our beleifs. Though one or two are complete misrepresentations.

I dont want to get into a religious debate, but if you truly have questions, pm me, and I will answer them as best I can, but if you seriously want to know, I would, like I suggested above, seek out a Jehovah's Witness and ask them yourselves.

-The JWs call themselves "The only true Christians"

62. You cannot read Christian literature from a Christian book store
64. You cannot purchase Christian products (plaques, pictures etc.)
65. You cannot wear any Christian jewelry

Actually, the girlscouts are supposedly the front for a satanic cult. Supposedly so are the Rainbow Girls.

1. Jehovah God is not a Trinity
2. The doctrine of the Trinity is inspired by Satan

So, when Christ was talking about the Father and later leaving behind His Spirit, and them both being God, that makes Christ not God. Or one of the other two not God. How can Christ leave his spirit behind and it be God if He wasn't God in the first place? I'm not even going to ask about how God the Father is not God...

4. The Holy Spirit is not a person but is "God's active force" i.e. gravity, electricity etc.

So... when God tells us that we are to listen to the Holy Spirit and that we are to read the Bible with an open mind to the Holy Spirit so that man's interpretation doesn't get twisted, we're just listening to a force instead of a conscious being who is giving each person an interpretation that is consciously acknowledged and molded to fit the things that Christ wants us to learn?

Hey, that's kinda strange.

Next time they come around, ask them if they believe that Jesus was God and man. When they say yes, tell them "no, you don't" then show them in the history of their religion where Joseph Smith stated otherwise. Then, ask them if they believe that Christ died on the cross for their sins. When they say yes, do it again :D

It's lots of fun.
