A friend of mine who is in that religion once mentioned to me that the men were'nt allowed to wear beards. He did'nt explain why and I felt uncomfortable asking at the time. Does anyone have any insite on that religion and their customs?

Here's a better question: Why do they always come knockin' on my door and then peep through my windows when I don't answer the door? :|

You know the difference between a Jehovahs Witness and a Yugo?

You can't slam the door on a Yugo :D

LOL! Too funny! Maybe you live in a house that allows them do that? How about you try a brick house? :Q ;)

I have no idea why they aren't allowed to have beards. I didn't even realise that Jehovah witness men didn't grow beards. But then again, it might be because I prefer men who have no beards at all or little if any. I think the Jehovah's Witnesses and I will get along just fine! ;) :D

6. Heaven is limited only to 144,000 Jehovah's Witnesses
7. Jehovah's Witnesses are the only true Christians
8. There is no eternal torment (Hell is just the grave)
9. There is no life after death (except for the 144,000)
10. Salvation is by good works not by Grace
So only 144,000 of them perform good works? That probably explains alot.

Edit: Nevermind this site is made by nuts just as nutty as the nuts they criticize.

"whf does having a 2 door car have to do with anything?"

Maybe it means you're chasing hot chicks or hot looking guys? Essentially, 2 door means you aren't family-oriented, which is contrary to their belief system! Hello?

Can't Jehovah's Witnesses have their belief system and practice it without being mocked or something?

Well, yes. If one accepts the Bible and does not criticise or try to interpret it, it says in Revelation that 144, 000 scores made it to heaven. The Jehovah's Witnesses believe in prophecies and tend to take things literally. So, what if they believe this 144, 000 scores as the book of Revelation says? Hey, once again, it's a belief system they're entitled to.

They're entitled to their beliefs.... but I still think most of that stuff is way out there.

The beard matter is nothing - plenty of religions have rules about facial hair.

Can't I relax at home without having to be pressured by a pamphlet pushing pansy at my front door? Thought not. If they stay out of my face, I'll refrain from laughing at their "odd" (to me) practices.

So why can't 2,880,000 JW's get in then? The quota seems pretty weird anyway. Be a good JW all your life, check out, get to the pearly gates and see a fat "no vacancy" sign. Bummer.

i imagine the people who created this religion didnt have both oars in the water, or they were having quite a good laugh at the people who follow it closely.

Because you don't have a sign on your door like I do :p

"I do not endorse Jehovah Witnesses! No solicitation!"
Since I put it up, they haven't been back since. :D:D:D

Well, as far as I know, Jehovah's Witnesses don't even believe in the heaven that mainstream Christians believe, not even to speak of rapture.

They think heaven is going to be on earth; a new earth. For, there will be Armageddon and then all new things will be created. So, maybe that belief is what makes the number sensible? There aren't too many people in this world who are Jehovah's Witnesses, so maybe they can all fit in that number? Besides, I'm sure there are some Jehovah's Witnesses who don't adhere to the belief system and are seen as sinners, so the number cuts down. As far as I know, they do not subscribe to predestination, so that's the closest to sensible reason I can think of.

You have a point there. No dispute. :p
