Hehe...you misjudge me. If there is anything that I have learned in my short time alive, it is that most things I have encountered are relative. However, in my warped little mind, I tend to think of things relative to myself...
Some people post far TMI. I usually skip through to the end and read the last paragaph... and then I'll backtrack as needed.

Uh.... ok. Well I actually agree with you that it's obnoxious when people ask for Cliffs Notes all the time. Sometimes they are nice, like when someone includes ridiculous amounts of extraneous details... But it annoys me that everyone uses Cliffs Notes and no one bothers to read the cover of the book and learn how to spell it.

to post on an internet forum that is labeled "OFF TOPIC", i expect to relax and post OPINIONS, not hard researched facts.
Usually I'm going to read and continue to read a post whether there are Cliffs Notes available or not (as long as its interesting). But when people request them I usually see why, usually a on-going paragraph that takes up a half a page, or things repeated over and over again (as I seem to do to often). It takes 1 second or less to read 'Cliffs Notes' on a thread, it takes considerablly longer to re-read a post you didn't understand due to bad grammar.
So to me, it doesn't really matter. Also, I don't think its meant to be 'amusing'. Just more of a kind way to say 'Correct your grammar you douchebag' or 'You said way to many useless things in your post'.

As far as opinions go...that's cool. That's one thing I've learned so far: When you are a little kid, and your mom tells you not to steal because it's wrong, you accept it as an absolute (at least I did). But when I got older, I realized that two people can have two different opinions on something, and neither of them be wrong (or right).
As far as correctness...I try to be factual in everything I post, just as in real life I try to be factual. I also take everything I read here with a grain of salt.
So, I can see where you are coming from.
