Crime is just one aspect. Mexico has high levels of pollution, poverty, and a general lower quality of life. You could relocate to some of the more richer neighborhoods if you are financially secure already. The financial divide in Mexico is far greater compared to the US.

Well, the Mexicans have never amounted to much. They have nothing to offer but poverty. What makes a country a great place to live is the character of the people. If the people are of good character, prosperity will creep up on them. I really wish they were a second Canada, so we wouldn't have to wall them off. Definitely some gorgeous spots down there.
