I once went to a party where there were a bunch of black, whites and Indians.

Indians got along fine with both blacks and whites. What surprised me was how much blacks hate whites, they were badmouthing them every second they were there accusing them of being a bunch of racists when all the white folks were busy grinding each other.

The very fact that we rigorously expose and decry every instance of racism we can find proves what our attitude is toward it. Unfortunately the publicity that necessarily gives every instance of racism might understandably skew a foreigner's perception of us.

BBC released a video right before EURO 2012 showing eastern Europeans beating some Indians who came to watch a game. The irony was those Indians got beaten by the fans of the same team they were supporting.
