Ties are almost as expensive as dress shirts. What makes them expensive? How much do you buy your ties for and where?

Usually pay 20-30 for my silk ties.

My shirts, I usually get for 20-45 for the stretchy ones from express, banana republic, or similar ones from macy's or wherever, but mainly from express or br.

Ties aren't that badd, when you figure how much you use it. If you gotta wear one every day and want a different one, then I guess it gets a bit expensive when you're first starting, maybe 150 for a good variety and a couple plain burgundy, dark blue or whatever ones.

I just bought several nice ties for presents at Kaufmann's Department Store. Nautica, Calvin Klein, etc. Original price around $39, marked down to around $24, then marked down another 60% to about $8-$10.

I need to wear ties everyday and probably get new ones every 2-3 months. Whoever invented Ties need to die. I mean it's just a piece of fabric that goes down your chest.

Just go to Ross man (not Rossman). They have brand name ties from Rob-May and Macy's that were overstocked.

anyways, I think they are because of the need to get the stichin and all correct. That said I have like 13 ties, I wear like 6 regularly. I'm a college student.

Ross / Marshalls FTW!

Although Macy's has good sales going usually. Can get nice once more a reasonable (ie not cheap) price.

Exactly. And should last years... not months.
