*groans* I can't wait. We will, of course, also see this forum swing hard to the right since it's much more fun to attack than it is to spend time defending. Happens every time.

Except some of us will have a good time pointing at both sides idiocy :D

That's why poor people pool their voting power to legally steal from the one rich man. This is democracy.

You know. It's very apparent that we disagree with each other in terms of politics, but even putting all of that nonsense on the back burner my jaw still drops in utter disbelief when I saw you make this post. To think that anyone, including those who are politically uneducated or experienced, does not understand how much of a greater influence the rich people have as opposed to the poor and middle class is just out of this world. Yes, in terms of votes alone you are correct in the sense that the rich have a softer voice. However, a very large number of big decisions and big changes occur without the use of votes from the public. This is where the big rich corporations and those who own them come into play in terms of political influence. On top of that, it is the rich people which provide a lot of funding so their the politicians of their choice get to make their voice heard in order to influence those without money.

This is not a new concept man. Even if you do not believe me you have no choice but to either accept that there will always be less rich and upper middle class people than any other class or leave the country. You are fighting a battle that you will not win even if you are ultimately right which can never be proven.

Vic, Obama has already openly stated he wants to repeal the capital gains and other tax cuts.

That equals = raising taxes and taking more of your money.

Just like symbolically "lowering" taxes while simultaneously drastically increasing spending means taking even more of my money.

You can't scare me with the same old tired rhetoric. The first rule of libertarian and captialist philosophies is that There is no such thing as a free lunch.
Yet that's where your own entitlement mentality begins, believing that you should have a right to big government without having to pay for it. Have the expensive War in Iraq, have the corporate subsidies and tax breaks, get the laws strengthen and/or re-written in your economic favor... just so long as you don't have to pay for it.
From my perspective, you're worse than the worst welfare mother, because you actually could pay for the government that you want, you just won't.

Why do you hate obama? Other than race and muslim which are pathetic excuses.

To those who hate Obama, who's better, yourself? :)

I don't hate him. I dislike him because he's pro-abortion. I can't in good conscience vote for him.

Yeah, Vic is quite good at getting to the trolls - they tend to get unglued when faced with reason and logic.

Intelligent and knowledgeable people who are capable of seeing the big picture despite whether or not they agree with that picture have a tendency to do that if they are not afraid to stand up and speak. I appreciate these people even if I disagree with them which is not the case with Vic's arguments in this thread but still.

Very few "hate" obama (Democrats think in those emotional terms, so the majority that really do hate him would consider themselves Democrat) - but most rational people can see that there is nothing there. Just another, "ends justify the means" Democrat politician who is clueless about what America is and what can actually work in the real world. All he deserves is pity, hatred requires too much energy.

agree...
he wants to have everything for nothing. its going to cost everybody. the top few percent by income pay for 90 some percent of the taxes... raising taxes on them is going to stem investment, its going to ruin capital expenditures in business.
have you owned a business?
taxes are a huge problem for small business, and they get lumped in with the top few percent, because many small business taxes are filed along with the personal taxes of the owner. my father use to employ about 5 skilled labor and 5 unskilled labor people at decent wages. the taxes and extra regulations levied on his business helped to make 10 people un-employed when he shut down.
how is raising taxes on the people that give you jobs going to help anything?

i for one cant afford more taxes. i pay enough now. I spend more each year on school than i make, and yet i must pay taxes on what i make so i can give it all to the state anyway.

2nd that motion. His last speech on Tuesday pretty much summed it up. Throw money at all problems, tax the 'rich', MAKE oil companies bow to his energy policy, and now getting a college education is now a right not a privilege. The next six months will be interesting.

I don't hate the guy, just don't like how everyone is sucking this guy off because he happens to be black and sounds intelligent. Most people that will be voting for him basically for those two reasons alone.

So all those threads and posts I see from self-professed Republicans in which they are constantly ranting ridiculous lies, threats, and fears about Obama are NOT emotional?
That's amazing, because they sure look it. And this forum is better than most.

And the very idea that you can imply that the ability for rational thought is somehow decided by partisan affiliation is simply mind-blowing in its ignorance and hypocrisy. How do you partisan hacks (on both sides) manage to be so deluded and so oblivious to it at the same time?
How about you take a look at the old fool your party is running?

did he say anything about the radicals on the right being so rational? i have found here, that it is radical to take any position other than R=evil killing machine and D= god that will save us all.
how come criticism of a D is such a wrong doing but of an R is not? he said nothing to invoke your hatred. its very hard to argue with people that are emotional about something rather than logical. this is why the D justifies itself.
it is true, D is usually more emotionally involved in politics. its just how it works.

No, it's not. For example, the so-called Bush Derangement Syndrome is nothing compared to the emotional WTF that is the Republican response to Democratic leadership. IMO, this thread is only the slightest hint of the Obama Derangement Syndrome to come.

The rest of your post is straw man bullshit. I criticize both R's and D's when I feel like it, and have a well-earned reputation as a logical thinker on this forum. But it is true that one of the fews thing that "invokes my hatred" is stupidity in denial and covered up with lies, which both you and Zepper have demonstrated.
Case in point: if Obama just another "ends justify the means" Democrat politician who is clueless about what America is and what can actually work in the real world, how does that make him worse than the "ends justify the means" Republican politician who is clueless about what America is and what can actually work in the real world running on the other ticket?
Yet that is what you want us to believe...
