You mean not conforming the the Bible Thumpers and huge Corporate interests.
No thanks, you can keep it.
If that is what the Country wants permanently then it can go down in flames along with you and your ilk. Good riddence.
We'll soon find out.

Moonbeam...that's crap, the Democrats raised almost as much as the Republicans last election cycle.
Bush campaign paid $345m, Kerry campaign paid $310m.
Considering Bush was the favorite to win and was the incumbent; the marginally higher campaign chest is not surprising.

No, I mean pushing for a socialist society the way you do, to spread your misery across the country, away from the free market roots that have made us the world's largest economy.
And that answers my question how?Originally posted by: Stunt

WTF is the "far left" here in the US? There isn't one unless you look to marginalized groups.
Instead of criticizing those in power; why not propose solutions to the problems you see.Originally posted by: Moonbeam
Exactly my point. The only people who can raise money are people who will support policies that are contrary to the best interests of the American people. It is why people don't vote. There is nothing to vote for but sh!t. Money insures that the only people running are pro money regardless of party. There is no escape from this tragedy for the American people but suicide so we are on that path. Fewer and fewer patriots will vote and leave the choice to the loons who will institute laws that will kill us as a nation just as we see happening now right before our very, sadly, mostly blind eyes. You care more about your wallets than you do about kids so they will do unto you just the same.Originally posted by: Stunt

You say everyone is blind and has no sense of reality; yet you have absolutely no vision or suggestions. As for the wallet before kids comment...I seriously disagree...most parents work hard to provide for their kids and think the world of them; for you to assume people think their wallets are paramount shows your twisted view of today's society.

Conservatives are NOT in power.
A radical sect called the neo-cons have managed to temporarily (hopefully) take over the Republican party. The neo-con philosophy is far different than the Conservative philosophy.
The differences between the no-cons has been glossed over and their similiarities trumpeted. But the two philosophies are not compatible and eventually one will dominate leaving the other to go to the Democrats or a third party.
These issues resonate with a fairly sizeable portion of our society, enough to win elections...the far left is lacking similar issues that has a passionate enough voter base...if you look to Clinton's success as a President, it was because he was a Democrat that attracted moderates and even some who traditionally vote Republican. Where are you guys going to place the blame once your Rove boogey man is gone and out of the game?1) Rovian ploys to GOTV (such as same-sex marriage ban amendments, abortion restrctions, etc. on state ballots)
A fairly bold accusation, but one that lacks any credibility...that, and vote manipulation existed well before the introduction of e-voting...the Democrats certainly don't have clean hands when it comes to manipulation of voting results...I agree that our society demands accountability when it comes to our vote tabulation system, but unfortunately, I don't see either party really making a case for such accountability...because both exploit the weaknesses in our system.2) Manipulation of voting results thru e-voting systems (Diebold, ES&S, etc.) as well as fudging recount issues and purging voter rolls of likely Democratic voters (Choicepoint DBT in Florida in 2000)
This is really the source of Democrat woes in the last 10 years...our society will simply never embrace a far left platform, and both Kerry and Gore ran poor campaigns against Bush, who should have been a fairly easy target despite the energized voter base on the far right.3) The left is fractured by too many interest groups (environmentalists, womens' rights, healthcare, etc.) that can't get together and compromise for the good of the liberal movement.

Clinton was very popular; in election results and in approval rating.Originally posted by: JEDIYoda

Canada's extreme left is identical to the US's extreme left and the same with the right. Unfortunately Canada is far more pro-government than the US is.
