WHY ARE PEOPLE STILL PROTESTING THE WAR?

Were they saying things like "Hey hey, ho ho, ______ has got to go!" and "What do we want? ______! When do we want it? Now!"
It's funny how these people waste their time protesting if they could just go work and donate that money to the DNC and be more effective in beating Bush. Money talks, protesters walk.
 
I can name one band that really digs the US military and a Navy commercial is testement to that. They played at Music Midtown in Atlanta on Saturday night and rocked the place. They think Hollywood and war-protestors are full of sh!t and depise them even worse than us.

Most here see to think (at least to me) that those protesting against the war (if u think about it really anti-war protesters isn't a proper term for them even though they are protesting against the war) are full of sh!t like I do. How many here can claim they have been in a war zone. I can. I spent 2 1/2 months in S.Korea (there has been an uneasy truce for 50 years and never a complete ending to combat in Korea) on an exercise (Bear Hunt 83) and could see what it means to enjoy your freedom. When you see a cammy net beside the road with a tank barrel sticking out of it (pointing north mind you) then you appreciate what ya have in a country like the US. If weapons stationed around S. Korea the way they are weren't there, then the North could easily walk right in (that and the fact that the US Army has a prettly large base about 40 minutes south of the DMZ to help stop a NK advance) down to Seoul.

I have served and know what it takes to serve, where as protesters just feed from a trough at so called places of higher learning with our really learning a damned thing about the real world. Left leaning professors teach em that they can say what they want, but not the reasons why they can say things. If I had been called up for either Desert Storm or Iraqi Freedom (unlikely tho it is) I would have gone.

You're talking about Saliva, and I was there, and they sucked.
 
No I am not talking about Saliva, I didn't see them. Last band on Saturday night at the 99X stage. AFAIK Saliva hasn't got a song being used in a US Navy commercial. Think Faceless.
 
Well the last band was Godsmack, but I was there for Saliva and all they kept saying was that if the Dixie Chicks and Eddie Vedder didn't "like America, they can get the f*ck out." Educated types, I presumed.
 
OK there are 2 bands that played this weekend that dislike the war-protesters, but like I said only Godsmack has a tune being used by the Navy. I do have some college under my belt (automotive technology), but I served prior to going to school. Like I said in an earlier post, college just affords a place to learn how to speak your mind and not why you can speak your mind.
 
Dixie Chicks and Vetter notwithstanding. I don't know if they even attended any (I have a dislike of country music anyway being a rocker from way back.) At least someone in the past has given their life so they can say what they want.

Do you not think that some folks have a philosophical aversion to some things that has been developed over a period of time and has not to do with college or service but, rather, they are intellegent enough to deduce their feelings from what they are confronted with at various times.

 
Protestors raise questions, but they usually end up pushing too far and turning off the very audience they want to capture. Marching around with a sign that says things like Bush = Hitler or something as ridiculously polarizing got the protestors nowhere, blocking traffic and harassing poeple in the streets did not bode well for the protestors either.

Around my (too conservative for even my tastes) town of Grand Rapids, MI there were quite a bit of silent protestors walking around with signs that actually had some good points written on them. I was somewhat impressed. When I saw what was happening in San Fran I was happy to see that I was in a town where people can raise questions instead of barricades.
