After reading others posts about suggestions on getting a high definition TV and also see the insain prices of the TVs, i wonder whats the rush.
Lets look at the facts:
1. DVDs are not high definition and HDDVD vs bluelaser discs is still being resolved.
2. The FCC is requiring DTV (high definition TV by 2007). This is very important because high definition will become the standard definition and hence the current high definition TVs will become standard issue (and in some cases have worse resolution). This will force prices down because no more market slogan of HDTV.
3. New technology always costs more at first and falls in price quickly after a year or two.
4. Not every channel is in HDTV.
I dont plan on buying a HDTV until 2007 and by that time i'll spend probably less than half of what people that paid for HDTVs today and get better quaility (all you guys that jumped the gun got 720 resolution when HDTV will be capable of 1080 resolution)
Im not against HDTV but just dont see the benift--ohhh i can see Jay Leno in HD his jokes are so much better now. There my rants over.
EDITED:
I forgot to mention that im one cheap b@stard and main problem is with the money. I dont see anything wrong with buying a HDTV now if you feel the cost is okay i just see the cost more than the reward.
