Not for females. For females "win" is pretty colors that impress their friends.

You know what the number 1 purchasing consideration is when a woman goes to buy a car?
The color.
Thats right, the color. She about to plunk down 30 grand on something that may save her life or take it, and she's worried about how it looks to strangers.

And its not like she's going to stand outside and stare at it because its so pretty. Men do that with their cars, women do not.

imo, mac products are better polished than from any other company. This also includes functionality without bizarre menus and quirks.

Eh . . . Apple?

Yeah performance vs. price is not something apple wants the public to know. Apples are nice, but you can build or buy a similar PC (performance wise) for less.

If the same logic applies, nobody will take their cars to the garage- everyone would just fix their own cars.

I'm typing this from an iphone right now. And this thing rocks. If I didn't want to wait in line, I'd be seriously tempted.

I'm typing this from mine right now too. Except I'm in bed cause I don't want to leave my blanket at the moment. Sure beats sitting at the computer. :D

because they look nice, do what they are supposed to, and it just freaking works. yes its expensive, and yes it uses PC internals.

quality is just fine for me. same goes with pc hardware (never has like fallen apart and such).

I really don't get why so many people on this board are so down on Apple. They make products that appeal to the masses. Sure most people probably don't even know that there are other MP3 players besides the iPod, but they aren't geeks like most of us either. Apple doesn't go crazy with the marketing, but they do make some very memorable TV spots. Apple has always done this ever since it's first mac commercial in 1984. I guess its cool to go against the gain sometimes.

I don't get it I guess...keep the Apple hate going:thumbsup:

I don't speak for everyone, but most people hate the Apple users, not the Apple company.

Why? Simply because a large chunk of apple users have this holier than thou attitude. It simply gets tiring. I don't care which OS you think is better, I'll use the one I want to use.

Also, I don't treat my laptop or phone as a sex object. If it looks good, that's fine, but otherwise I don't give a shit. I'm not going to be looking at the outside case of my laptop 24/7, so why should I care? I use my laptop to work on, not to drool over. Same thing with the phones... all I care is that it works well and provides the features I want at a decent price. I don't care about looks.

Also, it gets a little tiring on the days of apple launches where every major tech news site is 75% apple stories, as if apple all of a sudden acquired a majority share of the market. The thing is, apple never does anything first, they only market it better.

I don't particularly care for most apple products. I'm not interested in buying a barebones laptop at $1000 that doesn't even have a DVD Burner. I'm not interested in buying a decent speced $2000 laptop, and I'm not interested in buying a $4000 overkill desktop computer. I'm also not interested in an underpowered mac mini that has no path for upgrade nor am I interested in a desktop computer with a monitor already attached. Sure, all the products look great, but I prefer function at a reasonable price over fashion. Until apple decides to create a midtower at a sub $1000 price, apple is not going to get one red cent from me.

That said, if you like Apple products, great for you, I don't care. Just don't constantly shove it in my face that you love apple and would masturbate to the sight of Steve Jobs. I don't expect you to care that I prefer windows with a touch of linux on the side either, right?

I agree. We're probably in the minority opinion though. I don't understand how moving your finger in a circle was decided as being the best way to scroll through a music list. Scrolling up and down is a more natural way of doing it...

Know what the Iphone needs? Music Recognition. The Infobar in japan can tell what song you want to listen to, by humming it into the phone.

If you don't know the song, it looks it up for you and matches it up with a database.

That is AWESOME

And free TV too

shrug...I don't know one apple user like that.

This is like the Canon v Nikon battles that I've seen happen online...just a waste of time.

You can see it on this forum. I'll read some topics over in the Apple forum and the same people come in and just crap on the thread. They have nothing constructive to say at all. I'm really not sure why people feel they need to give their input even though they have never owned or used said device.

Like I said people...it is cool to hate what is popular

A vertical touch pad like the iRivers had is good too, but buttons are just plain bad. How could you not find pressing a button repeatedly to be tedious?

And press and hold isn't intuitive.... If it were, your mouse would have up/down buttons instead of a scroll wheel. You can only go one speed with buttons, but you can scroll as fast or as slow as you want with a mouse wheel or a jog dial.

The stick on the iAudio is probably a little better, assuming it's analog.

the wheel is the promary reason i will never own an Ipod, i hate that fucking thing

I agree. We're probably in the minority opinion though. I don't understand how moving your finger in a circle was decided as being the best way to scroll through a music list. Scrolling up and down is a more natural way of doing it...

becauase moving in a circle is a continuous motion instead of constantly picking up your finger to rub in strokes:p

That is AWESOME

And free TV too

The Shazam App does music recognition when you put it up to a song.. I think I heard there was one for humming too, but I can't recall the name of it and might be completely false to begin with.
