McCain was doing so well in this election attacking Obama on experience and foreign policy.

Then he added a VP to his ticket that only got her passport last year, and has the experience of governing the 47th most populous state for 20 months.

Vic,

There are constant references to the fact that Palin was picked only because she had a vagina (is a woman) as a tactic to get votes. That is usually followed by a tirade about all her extreme positions and inexperience and why that makes her a poor VP choice. She's not the right woman is clear enough in what is being said.

This ignores that her "extreme" positions are in line with the Republican party platform and the VP position has almost always been used as a box ticking vote getter (usually geography to balance the President out).

So I stand by my statements and your little tirade shows nothing to me.

What a stupid question. Its like asking "when did you stop beating your wife?"...

I've not talked to one angry liberal regarding Palin - most either don't give a crap or are tickled pink that McCain picked a female Quayle. If McCain didn't want people to attach Palin, he should not have given liberals such an easy target. She might as well wear a sign saying "kick me"...

Some of the strongest critics of Palin are/were Hillary supporters.

You'd know if you'd taken the time to read WHAT he said, instead of being in a hurry to defend Palin. He's entitled to his beliefs. Spewing bullshit that terrorist attacks on Israelis are God's "judgment of unbelief" of Jews who haven't embraced Christianity, or that a Palestinian from East Jerusalem who took a bulldozer and went plowing through a score of cars, killing numbers of people" is an example of that "judgment" is anti-semitic hate speech.

A Jew for Jesus guy is equated with Rev Wright? How is being a JfJ controversial?

Personally, I think it's incredibly stupid, but I never said it was controversial, in and of itself.

How is a one time guest speaker equal to a long serving preacher who is Obama's mentor and baptizes his kids etc?

What does it say about the idiot pastor who invites that kind of bullshit into his church? He knew who Brickner is and what he represents. If he didn't support it, he wouldn't have invited Brickner to speak.

All I see is she may have heard a guest speaker at her (part-time) church make a statement more like one those "Hurricans punish homo's" thingys?

You call that THINGYS???

I call that blatant bigotry as foul as Brickner's accusation that terrorist attacks against Jews who don't accept his version of Jesus are somehow manifestations of his ooga-booga mystery oil deity's "judgment." If you don't see that, it makes you sound both anti-semitic and homophobic.

Personally, If someone laid that "judgment" rap on me, I'd tell him he could kish mir tuchas. If you need a translator, in Yiddish, it means, :lips: my (_!_).

Finally, I did NOT say this was Palin's belief. I said she should explain her view on Brickner's statements. To repeat what I said at the end of the post you quoted but obviously didn't read:

How much of this anti-semitic crap is Palin's belief is hers to explain, but considering the stink Republicans made about Jeramiah Wright's sermons, Palin owes the same kind of public explanation of her own beliefs as Obama gave about Rev. Wright's statements.

Harvey,

However, you've been on the losing side everytime I've paid attention.

Then obviously, you and far too many others, haven't been paying enough attention while I and others who have been shouting about the crimes committed by the Bushwhacko administration from the beginning, and we were right all along.

If you want to explain something to your kids, try telling them why your Traitor In Chief and his criminal cabal of traitors, murderers, torturers, war criminals, war profiteers and miscellaneous liars started a war that, as of 09/2/08, has squandered the lives of 4,152 American troops and left tens of thousands more Americans wounded, scarred and disabled for life.

:(

Then, tell them why that same criminal Bushwhacko adminstration shredded the rights guaranteed to every American citizen by the U.S. Constitution.

While you're at it, you can explan why that same criminal adminstration, with that same war of LIES, took our nation from a surplus to trillions of dollars of debt they, and their children, and their childrens' children will be paying off for the rest of their lives.

Being on the side that was right doesn't mean we had the power to do right. All of us, and all of those who follow us will be paying the price for how much wrong the Bushwhacko criminals have done. :|

Harvey,

I use you and Moontroll to teach my kids the dangers of doing drugs and the obvious detrimental effects it has on your brain's ability to reason. Thanks for providing another example for them.

My kids are quite fine, but thanks for your sympathies. Don't forget to pass them on to my wife as well, she is 100% a Democrat and she has to live with me. Like I said, I certainly appreciate the examples you and others provide on what not to do, it helps in my teaching them.

As for kissing your ass, sorry, not that interested in that.

Because shes an authoritarian asshole who should be in prison instead of making decisions for everyone in the country... I don't give two shits about the whole "first woman VP" issue, and I doubt many people do... At least, the people who have their heads screwed on straight enough.

Authoritarians? We should be voting for punishment of them, not rewards, you god damn morons.

Same goes for Biden, too. Oh yes. That man is a joke of a VP candidate. Any man or woman who desires to take freedoms and rights away from us, whether it's driven by whatever fucked up fairy-tales they believe in, or for the riches they'll receive as reward... Well those people can die in a gutter for all I care.

No, loopy, you totally missed it. At least Fern got it.
"Service" and "Country First" are strongly collectivist values, completely at odds with the Republican party's traditionally libertarian stance, no matter how much they're wrapped up in the flag. That makes it a bit silly for budmantom to call people "comrades" just because they don't toe his precious Republican party line, eh?

I guess that's just another reason why RP's convention across the street is sold out while the GOP convention isn't, eh?

Yes, that your post about JFK was stupid and ignorant. Either you were trolling, in which case you're immature, or you're dumb enough to actually believe it.

Pandering, ill-qualified... welcome to politics, and don't even think that the other side doesn't do it as well, because they most certainly do. You can't please everyone all the time, but you can please some people most of the time. I like Palin, especially after the speech. I do not think that she is a discredit to the office because the office of VP and President for that matter is for the people. I would rather have a PTA president, doctor, farmer, engineer or line worker in the oval office than some career politician. Why? Because you are more likely to avoid the garbage that is politics. I hate politics, but I understand the importance of government. I am firmly convinced that voting for Obama will destroy what is left of an already ripped constitution that doesn't need filling with bloat, but a return to the fundamentals. I want a smaller gov't that will spend less of my money. Add into it the fact that the government is the most inefficient system in the world and you realize why I don't want socialized medicine. I have been a part of the "socialized medicine" that exists now. It is scary beyond all reason. I want people to fend for themselves, not receive gov't checks in the mail. I don't want my hard earned dollars supporting someone who isn't going to work or who does not have the desire to work. I will support someone has fallen on hard times and is trying to work it out. I will support someone who has made an honest mistake, but if I am to spend the rest of my life supporting someone else, I might as well fall in and join the ranks.

Thanks for letting me rant. <Steps off soap box>

Don't feed the troll.

Anyway, it's not possible that comrade Budmantom actually loves this country when there are Democrats in it.
