Childhood until age 18 is an artificial modern concept. Throughout history (and even much of the world today), the onset of puberty made you an adult.

SO by that logic child labor laws are BS then too?

That being said, the unfortunate delinquent who lays a hand on my daughter before she's 18 is gonna lose it.

Yes, but the age at which children were adults was based on life expectancy and socioeconomic factors, not slimy advertisers trying to break into an untapped market to make more money.

In case you weren't being sarcastic, kids shouldn't be having sex at that age.

so "because they are" we should just accept the fact and market to them? That's what he's saying.

Well, I mean that we shouldn't encourage it or bat an eye at it just because more of them are.

I am guessing it's for kids that want to wear bikini's to the beach or the pool. It would be unsightly and embarassing for them to have pubes hanging out the sides.

I don't see anything wrong with it. People think too damned much when it comes to kids.

What's wrong is the implicit sexualization of the act, when they talk about it making those areas touchable. Sure, it *could* just mean for the girl herself, but come on, you really think that's what they mean?

Why can't kids just be kids? Why this stupid push to make children act more like grown-ups? Thankfully, my sister's 12 year old is innocent as the driven snow. Hopefully that continues for a few more years.

And ten year olds can, increasingly, have pubic hair. The average age of puberty has been going down for years.

precisely. that's how they think they should be because of what is all over all popular media. but I can't be one to judge, or really care. I bet that shows the continual decline of parenting skills in current and forthcoming parents now, does it not? I mean seriously, I really would do whatever I could, kill a kid maybe, to keep any girls I might have from that kind of behavior. I'd say the same for boys, but you gotta catch them in the act or be told of their actions before you can determine if he's starting to explore that sexual side... so it's hard to prevent. But girls, these days they are all trying to dress as slutty as possible so young (parents let them? do they NOT remember their possible childhood?) Either way, I tend to do as much as possible to keep them pure to 16 at least.. when they start driving they start getting carried away on their own and there ain't much you can do that, earlier if their whores, but that's what I'm trying to prevent). I'd wish 18, but I want to give them something to maybe take up their time, that ain't necessarily a lot of drinkin and/or smokin. I'm gonna already try and get my son into baseball at an early age, maybe let that take him further than it did me, I could definitely coach him and I want to sign up to be a little league coach and move up, but probably move up with my son. And yes, I say son because I have to have a son. I'll go to whatever length to have a son some day, even if I have to live with the pain of 3 daughters first, boy will that son have to deal with the worst of childhoods as the daughters will be like cats with each other. Family ain't nothing without a male to hopefully carry on a legacy though, and I'll get an excuse to be a big kid teaching a little kid ball, maybe throw soccer his way, then have him look into the kicker spot for the football team. He'll have his options then. :D Kid will be set for college. :D

on a side note, I love how you spelled shouldn't (shouldent)... i just gotta say, it just makes me smile. lmao It isn't supposed to be spelled like that.. right? Just curious, honestly. It's intriguing because it looks like it would work in British/Canuck style. :p

and geewiz.. aren't segues fun. :D

Here is the link to the actual product. I guess you're not a "pretty" 10-year-old if you have peach fuzz. Gotta get rid of that sh!t.
