Who's using Edge as their primary browser?

Anyone using Edge as their primary browser? How do you think it rates against Chrome, Firefox etcetera...?

Personally I'm liking it so far. Although it's very basic in terms of features, it has blazing speed, and has some very nice security features.

I am using it off and on, generally OK, though I have pretty basic needs for web browsing. Missing a lot of basic features like hold back/forward button to get a jumplist or download location. Really needs to get up to parity before I would use it full time.
 
No extension support means Edge is not going to be my primary browser anytime soon. Right now I really only use it for HBO GO since it functions better than going through Flash in Firefox.
 
I used it for a while. It is fast and supposedly includes the latest, greatest in browser design but it is lacking basic features. For example, all downloads have to go to a single folder destination. Flash can be controlled for all sights but not for individual sites. There are no choices at all for other Active X. Favorites are harder to work with.

l will not use Edge again unless MSFT adds more features to it.
 
No Adblock plus. I cannot stand the internet without it, especially all those sites with little windows that follow you as you scroll or the sudden Bamm!! in yo face subscribe now flyers that jar the senses after you've been reading a little bit.

I don't need any other extensions but I can't do it without a good Adblocker. Plus I couldn't figure out how to import my bookmarks file, seems you can only import from another browser...kind of stupid.

I am also using Edge browser and what you say is correct it has several security features as below -
  • It stops phishers from doing anything bad that will affect the site.
  • It operates in sandbox which is a security feature that executes a program or software in a contained environment without affecting other programs running on the device.
  • It doesn't support troublesome browser extensions like ActiveX and VBScript.

No AB+ was my main concern also, then I tried using the mvps.org hosts file for ad blocking, and it's working quite well.

Since when does Chrome have control flow guard? I've been on the dev branch for a while and haven't seen it yet. I'm only on Windows 8.1 but that has CFG support. I wasn't aware that Chrome moved to VS2015 yet.

I suppose that Chrome's PartitionAlloc falls under JIT hardening although I'm not 100% sure about that. Firefox also has a similar mitigation though and doesn't have that checked off (the Firefox one may not be as strong though).

I'm also not sure what the difference is between "Industry standard" and "Implemented". Is there a context to this chart that I'm missing?

That's a good question. Perhaps it's that since Edge is very new, the implementation hasn't been reviewed yet to see if it meets the industry standard?

Anyway, after a week I'm still using Edge, and still loving the blazing fast speed! 😀 One thing I don't like though, is that you need to enable Cortana to get the most out of it..
 
I'm trying to use edge, but sites such as ebay will crash and be non responsive every so often. Also, printing to PDF makes it so that you can't select texts... All in all, feels like Google Chrome when it first came out. I do like it over chrome though, just buggy... I just keep going back to edge when I have 3 browsers on there... (IE11, Edge, Chrome)
 
I also had tried to like Edge but:

1) It's really unstable. Crashy, crashy.
2) It is not compatible with some sites.
3) It causes weird bugs with Windows 10.
4) It has no plug-ins like Adblock.

So, I've just gone back to using Firefox and Chrome, or even Internet Explorer 11.
 
I use it from time to time. Chrome keeps stuttering on me and is getting annoying. I thought it was a display driver issue, but I'm not so sure.
 
Until it supports add-ins/extensions, no. I can't believe Microsoft in 205 decided to release a browser without this feature. What were they thinking?

Me neither, too rough around the edges 😀

MS should simply have upgraded IE12, for the desktop crowd, instead they're pushing them towards the erstwhile metro browser. Can't say it;ll pay off anytime soon since FF & chrome are way ahead any way you look at it.
 
Yesterday's Apple live event requires Apple's iDevice or HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) capable browser (Windows 10 Edge Browser) is the only time I use it.
