I always think I have it bad but I'm making ends meet. My wife stays at home with our 14 month old son. Our saving grace is a company house that I live in. All I pay is utilities. Without that, we'd be in rough shape. I do not make a lot of money but we don't spend much either. Our only debts are vehicles. We are active in our church and serve the Lord in any way we can. We feel that we are blessed for blessing others with our time.

I just have to hope the pay check is processed before the payment. They both happen the same day. I might have some change in my car I can go deposit and the teller will look at me funny. :p

Do it. For the lolz and just to make sure you don't over draw the account.

I knew what you meant - and thanks, that's really sweet. I've got a bunch more calls out to people who owe me money and I got some good offers from my craigslist stuff - and I played a rehearsal tonight, got cash. Hopefully I'll get it!

I'm selling stuff and trying to borrow from friends. Rent was due back on the 1st. Many people owe me money (I'm a freelancer) but nobody is paying - just giving me excuses.

No savings - my disabled kid's medical bills wiped that out - and I owe some $ to credit cards.

Make me feel better - tell me you're poorer than I am.

father in the picture?

I don't think the OP is Black so he is probably around.

I occasionally listen to Dave Ramsey... and he says the same thing.. but he adds to make sure you call the credit card companies. Don't just not pay. If you call and negotiate he say they often times will renegotiate terms for a bit. Otherwise you will probably spend the next few months dodging debt collectors.

Ouch, I can sub you 40 quid or so if you pm me a paypal address.

After running this through a translator, I think he is trying to give you a subway sandwich.

*sigh*

I am willing to enter an informal agreement, whereby I will lend the OP an amount of monies (roughly in the region of 40 Pounds sterling) until she feels able to repay me.

Any better?

*grumble* bloody yanks *mumble*

We know what you meant.... us bloody yanks just have a sense of humor. :) Just stay out of P&N... no sense of humor there.

My mortgage will be 29 days late, which is really scary to me.. Tenants needed repairs that were out of nowhere and my car had a minor accident that needed to be fixed.. and buying the house has been bleeding money from me slowly..we'll make the payment and we won't get a late charge because I discussed it with the mortgage company but.. SCARY.

Didn't you JUST buy the house?

Bought it in June, depleting us of over $40,000+ in one big swoop. Then we had to do move in repairs/furniture purchases (all necessities), renovate the rental immediately, re-wire electricity for 2 floors... Install a gate.. Then our tenants made a fuss about something that wasn't really a big deal, but we had to get that fixed.. and handymen in NYC are insanely expensive.

We'll be fine after this month, our PMI reduced for some reason and our car insurance premium just went down as well, so we'll have $500 extra to pay down credit cards (less than $5,000 in total debt other than mortgage), and eventually save.

It's been an expensive few months

Good luck. ATOT is a community and we help others in desperate needs. Don't feel ashamed, a few already have offered to help. Do you have a Paypal account?

Ever thought of joining the freelancers union? I did while I was freelancing and they offer affordable health insurance and networking events, which could lead to more work.

Also, consider calling a lawyer about past due invoices. For a percentage, they may offer to help you obtain those funds. I'm honestly talking out of my ass on that one, but I do know that people respond more proactively to letters with fancy letterheads with lawyerly names on them.

yet the internet still runs at your house. Only in Finland is it a right so far.

What does your cable/satellite TV run a month?

What do you do for a living, maybe someone on ATOT is looking to hire someone for it.

for you freelancers. Have you thought of substitute teaching?

All you need is a bachelors degree in anything to get certified as a sub and it usually pays about 90-120 day ranging from place to place.

Gawd, don't say stuff like this... People need to have Internet, how else do you get to AT?
