i kinda want to knock this shit out of the way, but i have to wait on a lot of statements?

so far i have the W2 ... but guess im suppose to have the trading account summary, bank summaries, student loan payment summaries, etc etc etc??

Finished today. Sent out state taxes to get money back. I owe a couple hundred to the fed so I'll send that one out in april.

Started but it will take a couple weeks to go through all the paperwork I have to review to get everything entered. I can only do it in small doses as it's a giant PITA to me.

I always say I'll do it early, and I always do it in April. I always owe money anyway, so I guess there's no reason to do it early.

This year should be different though... I bought a house. I may not owe money, or at least not much. I'm kind of curious to see how it turns out, because I may need to adjust my withholding. So once again I'll tell myself I'm going to do it early this year.

Still waiting for some forms though (from banks and whatnot)

I got my W2 but I have a couple of other statements I need to get before I'll bother starting.

I'm thinking maybe I just won't pay taxes this year. Then one day, I can be the Treasury Secretary or some other high ranking position.

Still waiting on my W2. I'm going to get a huge refund. I was taxed in a higher bracket, but I did not start working until May so I did not make that much. Interest free loan FTL.

Yeah, but now it's "free" money that you can blow on video games and computer stuff to help the economy. 😀

I thought I was done until the wife got a W2 that she had forgotten about. It's only for $400 but I need to file a 1040X now to amend my return. Grrr....

Filed two weeks ago as I had to wait for the W2 even though my last pay stub of the year had all the info I needed. IRS says refund in three more weeks. I hope I get the state refund before the state goes broke.

Waiting for the 3rd week in March.
It's stupid for me to do it any earlier than I have to since I'm sure there will still be updates in the tax software like there is almost every tax season.

I have all my W-2's together between my bed. They are still in sealed envelopes and will remain so until I start doing my taxes at the end of march.
All other necessary documents are either in a folder box in my room or on my desktop in a folder labeled "Tax".

I take it you owe?

Done. I did mines with TurboTax online. It was sort of a PITA because I had to call the IRS for my Adjusted Gross Income so that I could e-file...but it was worth it. Hopefully, I'll get a check in the mail soon.

That money's gonna buy me a new exhaust + cold air this summer. I initially wanted it for a new place, but I have enough for that already. 🙂

There is a 60% chance that I will owe, 38% chance that I will break even, and 2% chance that I will get a refund.
I either break even or owe taxes. I don't see any point in giving the government an interest free loan.

Last year, I got ~$500 from the fed, but owed the state ~$700 so in short I owed taxes.
