Just got my W2 in the mail. Still waiting for one more form before I can do it. I'm a little disappointed - they included relocation benefits as taxable income. I thought that was non-taxable. That moves me out of getting a refund for student loan interest. Bah.

Did mine last weekend. I don't have any assets or need to do any of those fancy schedules, etc. 1040EZ takes care of me. I worked at one place last year so I was able to do mine after waiting for that single W2.

Fed taxes done and supposed to get a refund by the 10th.
State done but they have delayed refunds because of the budget.

I did my spouse's last week but since I always owe the Feds, mine goes at the last minute with a paper check to drag it out a little longer.

I'm making 2.60% APR on my checking account and I appreciate the interest a little more than they do.

Still waiting for more paperwork, frustrated I couldn't file my taxes earlier (going to have to wait even longer for that CA state refund)

That is such bullshit. How in the fuck can they get away with that?

Because nobody stands up and says no.

Also, I finished my taxes this morning.

I am getting a decent refund back but I'm torn on whether I should make a large payment on my sole remaining credit card, or piss away a large chunk of it in electronic toys.

I think i'm done, but this is the first year i've ever been in an employee stock purchase plan.... is there some kinda statement i need to wait for due to that? i also joined the credit union but that's just a glorified savings account

there is, but only if you make a transaction (sell)*

*non-CPA answer

for the credit union, you will need to wait for 1099-int because you likely earn interest on the savings account... no matter how miniscule

i haven't sold anything, it's one of those "just let it sit" type of accounts. So an employee stock purchase plan is technically taxable like a 401k? all i do is roll any dividends back into it

and i probably made <$1 in interest from the CU, should i seriously wait for that statement?

Bah, have to wait for the wife's W2. Her idiot boss is always pretty slow with it. Also have a couple 1099s but those should be here in the next couple days and need to get a couple charitable donation statements. Looks like a decent sized refund so I'll need to adjust my exemptions for next year.

Are you kidding? Pay off your debt. You'll feel better in the long run. I can't express in words how much better I feel these days knowing I don't owe a huge debt to my credit cards. All the debt I have now are everyday purchases so that they don't cancel the cards. :)

Electronic toys are nice but not worth it. Go outside if you are bored and do something productive.
