Server is back up and running w/ the latest from n0tch, can't vouch for stability yet, but I'm logged in and it seems good at the moment.

Do you guys want monsters on the server? I go back and forth on whether or not to have them. Let me know.

Monsters only matter when you have to go out and mine your own stuff.

I say no as well. I think our server is more creative and building than it is action.

I am with El Guaraguao, the last 3 times I have tried to show my friends my awesome greenhouse, and the other stuff on the server, it has been down. It makes TheStu a Sad Panda.

Sorry guys, was in Wisconsin for a week and we had a power outage (of course).

Working on getting things back up and running as I type this.

Checked out the arena, someone definitely jacked it up, and given the clean cut look of the hole, I'm thinking it had to be using the /remove function or the blastpick. Since only mods had those, I'd turned those off for mods for the time being.

I've also removed the ability of users to /item themselves things for now.

TNT was working on and off for a bit so perhaps someone used TNT to blow it up.

Is the server not running now or is it no longer "grady.boldlygoingnowhere.org"?

Power outage brought down my internet for 3-4 hours, that's probably what it was.

In other news, there's not many people logging on any more, maybe 2-3 a day on a good day. I'm going to assume people have lost interest or have moved on to other servers, so I may take mine down for now. I upgraded my net speed to 25Mbps/5Mbps to meet the demands of a larger group of people on the server, but it seems kind of silly now given how little time people are spending on it, so I'll probably let it run the rest of the week and then I'm going to take it offline. That may change in the future with any major updates to Minecraft, but for now I think maybe people have moved onto other games or life in general, which is fine, I have too. 🙂

so i just spent some time walking around the server. i was the only one there. I started at the original noob spawn, and just explored and remembered how that world has evolved. and then the minecraft music started playing, and i felt really sad and happy at the same time. some great times were had on the server, that's for sure. I'll probably check it out some more this week 🙂

thanks Krakn. i do hope the server stays up, and i'd be willing to send you a couple bucks a month to help make up for the cost of the increased bandwidth, that is of course if other people will still be playing as well.

Honestly this whole swap to Beta has put me off Minecraft. All of the server I played on were down for a week or so and I just never went back. I'll try to login soon maybe we could resurrect this? If not I'll have to find somewhere else to play full time.

Yeah I seen that myself. And honestly I haven't played as much either.

Maybe you should put monsters and/or PvP back on? Of course make sure it's a clean slate with no /item or /give on. I've been playing more lately but it's mostly been on survival servers sometimes ones with PvP.

Perhaps we could start the server clean? I would like to see some sort of structured town build. Everyone gets a good sized plot next to a road that runs through town and you can build whatever you want on it. People could still wander off and build if they like, but I think it would be cool to make a town.

i wouldn't be against starting over. it would be nice to have a map of the current server though before it goes away.
