well on a positive note, doors seem to be working in smp. and redstone seems to be a little less buggy. little things like that are what should have been fixed.

upon playing in massive caves, the monster spawns have made it a little more fun and interesting. not sure on how "well lit" the area has to be yet but i put enough torches to have almost zero shadow/dark areas. i always have to carve an easy escape route that i can hop up around a corner real fast and i put more storage pods up along my way due to the constant sssssss boom i keep running into.

So I set up a server to fool around on, and I worked like all day in it creating this huge hole in the ground so I could start building something really big. I must have gone through about 6-7000 blocks of TNT doing it. Is there something I need to do to make sure I don't lose all this work in case my internet goes down or I close the server? Or does it save automatically?

are you using the minecraft-server.jar or are you using something like hey0 http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?t=23340.

you can set the save interval as well as a bunch of other commands what not.

New modem's installed, server is back up and running.

Also, grady.boldlygoingnowhere.org will get you connected to the server again.

Hopefully the new modem will make a big difference in uptime.

I've also installed some cool new plugins for people to use.

WorldEdit - http://forum.hey0.net/viewtopic.php?id=93

IonCannon - http://forum.hey0.net/viewtopic.php?id=262

DalaPlugins - http://forum.hey0.net/viewtopic.php?id=95

QuickPort - http://forum.hey0.net/viewtopic.php?id=235

IRCBot - http://forum.hey0.net/viewtopic.php?id=37 (bot is set up on Efnet channel #krakn3dfx currently)

Looking at other plugins to add, will spend some more time on it tomorrow. I dunno how 90% of this stuff works at this point, but it's all loading up and seems to be working together, so we'll figure it all out at some point 🙂

Also, currently rendering a new map of the current world, hoping to post that first thing tomorrow.

Just checked it out, its amazing but sadly my laptop cant keep up. Does it get better if you stay connected or does it just need some horsepower?

Server is up for now. Qwest tech will be out tomorrow to look a my wiring situation, until then I'm going to leave it up as long as it stays up.

thanks for all the work on the server.

oh man, i was testing the ioncannon addon on another server. the default setting of 3 is already crazy enough to crash my game and leave a huuuuuge gaping hole. I don't see myself ever using anything larger than 1 to create some mine shafts.

Another question about running a server with the hey0 mod. It seems I can't make anyone an op, is that right? I made someone else, as well as me, an admin and it seemed to be working ok for a while but now he can't connect, though that seems unrelated.

Lego Universe does actually feature some building... but the interface for that is pretty crappy I thought (haven't played the beta in a while).

There's also Blockland

Go to Lego website and download their app, you can build whatever you want in the program. Not only that you can also buy your creations (if you want).

I've build LOTS of cool things. Love the app.

The Lego Digital Designer isn't a game like Blockland, Minecraft, Lego Universe, Garry's Mod, etc - they allow you to some extent to "play" with your creations or to share the environment your creations are in with other users or to collaborate on larger projects.
