wanting to build a large obelisk-like tower on top of my sky pyramid.

Take over enemies islands but bridge/tunnel/etc. Be like king of the hill. Other plays could not do anything to your island, but add to it. So that way you don't just see massive grieving of other peoples stuff. Like if you spend 30 hours building a tower. If someone took of island they could just add other things TO that structure, or new stuff to area.

I don't know, so many possibilities if it went MMO. They guy would be richer than he is now. You don't need to change graphics, or anything, all about gameplay with this game. 😀

Heheh...it would still be pretty easy to grief unfortunately. Place extra stones and ruin a good-looking design, completely cover your house in sand, block out the sun (like the guy said happened to him on the AT server)...plenty of ways.

I need fire for my project (which I haven't been able to work on since early last week 🙁 ). Sorry I haven't been on lately, I have been pretty busy. I finished the tunnel all the way to the ocean, but haven't logged on since, so the bridge isn't done (or even started for that matter). If you need a tunnel to the Magus tower, and my Project (which is nowhere near done, to the point I am sure no one knows what it will be) just head south over the lake and the tunnel is on the other side. I'll probably make a new tunnel to the Arena from my main tunnel as well.

I have been working with Poops on his new project.

I'll come back to the Tower and work on something with you.

As of now I'm enjoying teleporting behind people and scaring the crap out of them. AND if they don't react and are AFK enclosing them in a glass tomb and putting a stream in the wall to drown them in there enclosure.

I think I had you refer me like a year ago. I can't get past the tutorial. I get ADD and then give up.

Maybe one day lol! I am indeed a sick puppy. Nobody should ever give me admin privies in a game.

i heard already placed torches will be upgraded to lanterns.

temporary torches = fml. i don't want to build much costlier lanterns. 🙁

No, Notch is going to edit the object that is currently a torch and make it a latern. Torches will be a "new" object. That means that all your current torches will automatically switch to laterns.
 
Actually sounds like a pretty sweet update. I wish when you had a torch out it was lit and you could carry the light though. Placing them everyone is sometimes a waste since you wind up just finding a dead end.

1. You go to your sons house, to help him dig a drywell for his washer. You get there and you see how deep he already has the hole. And you scream out "Beware the void"....



LOVE THE WATCH.... Looking at my real time clock and ticking off seven minutes is not working for me. I have spent 3 days in the bowels of my home. Finding diamonds and that red stuff seems to distract me.
What the HELL if the red stuff used for anyway? The compass? Pffffft. My home is so far from my spawn point that feature is useless.
Low level lighting? What for?
 
The red stuff is used as wiring to connect switches to things, the red torches are I basically repeaters I think. I've yet to really use it. I'd actually prefer a gear based system because I think it fits the game better than magically wiring. Apparently there was a gear block in a early version of minecraft but it didn't really do anything. I think he at least had the idea of building things like water wheels and windmills but for whatever reason he went with the magic wiring instead.

Pretty sure that the engine doesn't do dynamic lighting.

I've heard that gears / machinery are in the works. Redstone is simply primitive electricity that you can do some pretty neat stuff with.
 
I believe I read an interview with Notch where they showed him an animated gif of a windmill that players made as a mock up. He said it was interested and cool but it basically duplicated the idea of red wire.

2. You lay down on the tile floor in your house and count the tiles to see how how tall you would be in minecraft
