i don't think so...you could set up your own multiplayer server, do it there, and then copy the world to SP i think. not 100% sure though.

Hrm, that isn't a terrible idea. Mostly I just want to play around with TNT, and don't want to turn on monsters.

I suppose I will just bite the bullet and turn them back on.

Yes, you can give yourself items, just not ingame. You have to hack your save file with a program called MineEdit.

Just ping it from a command prompt if you need the IP. Currently it's 216.160.139.248 but it could change at any time. I seem to recall some discussion in this thread about DynDNS and dynamic IPs.

Well I bought it this morning but Paypal is being an asstard and hasnt actually ran my Visa it looks like. Hopefully the payment gets sent soon and I can give it a try.

Minecraft server is currently down, taking awhile long than I thought it would to copy the latest world files back over to the dedicated server, hope to have it up in the next 10-15 minutes, if not it'll be later this afternoon, since I need to run my son to chess and la crosse afterwards.

I think this would make a EPIC MMO game. Keep it like it is, but just remove TNT and Fire (except torches for lights). Then each player starts out on own little island, you expand from there. Take over enemies islands but bridge/tunnel/etc. Be like king of the hill. Other plays could not do anything to your island, but add to it. So that way you don't just see massive grieving of other peoples stuff. Like if you spend 30 hours building a tower. If someone took of island they could just add other things TO that structure, or new stuff to area.

I don't know, so many possibilities if it went MMO. They guy would be richer than he is now. You don't need to change graphics, or anything, all about gameplay with this game. 😀

Pssh, our minecraft fix > kids. 😉

I have a dedicated hosted server that is currently sitting unused. Its running Debian and in need of a reimage. If people are interested I would be willing to try and setup an actual hosted server for ATOT MC.

Its not an amazing machine, dual core AMD 2ghz, 2GB ram, 250GB hdd but its all mine and has a dedicated 100Mb pipe. Will this run MC well?

Also, its hosted by Leaseweb in the NL but I normally have good latency.

Having a hard time finding good blocks. I'm using iron tools cause the other ones take too long, but I'm using more iron to make the tools than I'm finding.

edit: just found a huge cave. first time ive seen lava. seems like lots of good blocks down here

Ok so I thought I had this cave all explored up until the point I was at, and I figured I had it well lit with torches. And I was moving forward through it and ran into like 20 monsters, so I can away and on my way back through the cave ran into about 30 more monsters and died because I had no chance. The thing is that I hadn't ran into any until I was fairly far into the cave, and then suddenly they were all over the place.

you probably hit a mob spawn. if you listen closely when you're digging, you'll hear monster sounds when you're near one. also you'll see mossy cobblestone around them usually
