Colleague just walked in with the DVD here.

Edit: Mine has to wait 2 more days, as I got a special version with free extra DVD (ask kami for the extra material 😛)
 
I'll wait for the extended version 🙂. Maybe I will get it from the net while I wait (hey, I'm still going to pay good money for it! It's their fault for not releasing the extended version sooner!)....

I might buy it....my brother is a big LOTR fan and I fell asleep partway through the movie (lack of sleep the night before). I kinda wanna watch it over again to actually see what happens during the movie.

I got in on the deal just yesterday, because I was planning on waiting for the extended version DVD. When my wife found out, she was like, "so, we're going to get TWO versions of LOTR?

Bah! I agree with the people who are waiting.... I don't need to spend the extra 20 bucks to get something that will just be replaced in 3 months.

I'm not really interested in a two-disc set that doesn't even feature a director's commentary.

I got in on the EB deal where you trade in 2 old crappy dvds and get LOTR for free. I had 2 I got for free that I couldn't give away so I figured why not, its there waiting for me today.
