I'm also waiting for the November release......all these movies and games are going to kill me....LOTR, SW EPII, Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime, Zelda......gah.

I got it for free from that EB/Babbages deal. I traded in 3 crappy DVD's that I got for free and they gave me a coupon for the 2 disc set. Gonna pick it up after work.

you guys do know that the extended and the one that comes out today are different, right?

i wonder how long its going to take for my best buy shipment to get here? ($15.99, free shipping, and they send you a $10 coupon!)

I hated it... I almost walked out of the theater half way through

Ahhh...maybe I'll skip it..thanks. 🙂

<---still hasn't bothered with the "new" Star Wars movies...

Wow? So your gona take the advice of one person out of everyone here who obviously like it (hence why their buying the DVD). Well that was easy.

Why don't you just watch the movie and see for your self? It wouldn't kill you to give it a try.

I could not give 2 craps about this extended version... I just watched the movie, & while it was pretty good, I could not envision myself watching 4 DVDs about the movie, or whatever comes in this extended version... 17 bucks for the normal movie is just fine w/ me.

Btw, this movie is no Gladiator. 🙂

Still #1 in my book.

Is there a reason not to?

Well, if you like Blockbuster's deal of 10 movie rentals for $25 AND a FREE copy of LOTR . . . there's your reason (well, mine).

🙂

WTF IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE

Just got back from searching over the whole town and not a place has the Widescreen edition. They all have the friggin fullscreen POS. I asked why and was told "customers prefer fullscreen over widescreen. Most people don't like the black bars."

Guess that's what I get for living in a town where 95% of the population is over 90 years old :|:|:|:|:|:|:|

I ordered my copy thru Bestbuy website to get the $10 digital coupon

I plan on using that coupon to get the version out in November and sell this one to my dad

I'm not really interested in a two-disc set that doesn't even feature a director's commentary.

When you buy a DVD-movie, do you buy it because of the movie or because of the extras? If you ask me, they could remove all the extra fluff (commentaries, trailers, "making of xxxxx" etc.), the movie is what's important IMO.

today at bestbuy, i was browsing through the dvds when some old guy asks if they have any full screen LotR in stock coz all he sees are widescreen. man, i wanted to kick the guy in the shins. haha
