I'm looking forward to this game, but not for $60. When it's down to around ~$30 I'll pick it up. I don't know why people are up in arms about the cursing so much... This game was meant to be crude and over the top. Obviously not made for children, or those who are easily offended.

That's exactly the problem. It's the type of game not designed for children, but they use language and jokes that only children would find funny. Look... I know there's no way to prove it, but I can assure that I'm QUITE immature with my humor and cursing doesn't phase me a bit. What I've seen isn't funny, it's entirely out of place, and personally it's an embarrassment to cursing. A well placed racial slur or group of naughty words can be quite entertaining, but they really just took normal things people would say (with curse words) and make it sound retarded with NEW curse words.

What's wrong with saying "you scared the shit out of me"? Why does it have to be "you scared the DICK OFF ME"? It's stupid. It sounds like this game was designed for my type of humor, but written by somebody who doesn't enjoy that kind of humor. You can tell things are forced, and the phrases don't really "flow" like they would from somebody who actually curses all the time. The words are there, but the feel is wrong.

There's an art to cursing. Seriously, there is.

I do not curse - ever. And I do not want my kids hearing such garbage either.

That's your right as a parent I guess, but you should let them out of the attic every now and then or their eyes will never properly adjust to sunlight.

I was pretty underwhelmed with it, to be honest. I didn't find the dialogue offensive, just stupid and forced. I didn't like the way it played either. To me, it just seemed like another garden variety FPS with pretty graphics.

Eh. Pass.

Yeah. Bad writing offends me more than swear words.

I guess it's a US thing...guns are fine...but words are not :hmm:

Welcome to America, my friend. Guns, violence, and murder are perfectly fine; but god forbid if our children see a video game with any profanity, nudity, or sex in it.

Haha I'm not debating that the writing isn't bad. I haven't played it yet, but I would assume that the plot and dialogue are terrible. I never planned on picking it up for the story or the writing.

Don't you know they are called curse words for a reason?! OMG. SINNER! You're *!#$#ing going to *#@%# you %@#!

Then again remember the same people who preach against cursing are the ones more than willing to kill you in the name of god.

I thought it was a great game!. Playing it is a blast and that's the point isn't it? That's what I look for in a game, not to try to nit pick it apart trying to be a game critic. Like making a big deal if someone uses "dick" instead of "shit". So the dick what! Some don't like the game cause she killed their dicks! Heh heh, morons. I think the game used different words here and there to get a response or a laugh. It worked for me, I was cracking up the whole game. I liked the voice acting, I thought it was funny and was done well. Of course I like Jennifer Hale's voice in anything she does (Mass Effect, etc). Her character voice acting for Trishka was a refreshing change from Shepard in Mass Effect. Shepard was professional and laid back, and Trishka was spunky and over the top.

For people who haven't played it yet, don't listen to the mamby pamby wannabe game players who trash talk every game they play. Do yourself a favor and just get it. Good action, good gameplay, good humor, good fun.

This sounds like something a Bioware employee would write.

Looks to be quite fun from the Vids I watched. Kinda Serious Sam or Painkiller with a bit of strategy added to it. I'll probably pick it up eventually, this year is shaping up to be a great one for PC gaming.

A friend of mine got it and finds it pretty fun to play, especially when he comes home from work and wants to shoot something. The language is indeed a drawback, why couldn't they make a game where you simply have to shoot people, instead of killing them with harsh language :D

I don't think the language is a drawback whatsoever. If you're going to get tripped out by some profanity in games, you might as well just quit playing games altogether or even watching movies. Do you ever go outside?

SOME profanity is one thing, and F-bomb here and there is tolerable but this game's language is purely for SHOCK and AWE...

Again, I liken it to a comedian who isn't THAT funny and cusses alot purely for shock value...

It's not even shock to me, as we kind of expected some in this game. It's that it's unnatural. You can tell whoever wrote the lines doesn't really have a dirty mouth, so the things said are just stupid. The actors do what they can but with shitty dialogue they can only do so much. It's not a game where the story is important, but it sounds like it's there enough to be distracting.

Its called personal values - you have no right to criticize other people for their values or their morals.

I never curse in real life, ever. I do not curse in real life because I want to set a good example for my kids. And, I do not curse for religious reasons.

Does the cursing in left 4 dead 2 bother me, a little bit yes, but I still play the game. But I figure the developers could not think of anything better to have the characters say in the game, so they inserted some foul language.

Hearing how much foul language is in bulletstorm, I seriously doubt I will be buying the game.

Game looks interesting. Saw the limited edition at my local Futureshop yesterday and almost bought it (sold some hardware I had and still have like 70CAD to spent hahah).

Maybe I'll fall for it...

EDIT: How long is this game?

I couldn't disagree more. I saw nothing unnatural or forced about it. It's a friggin game man! Get fucking over it! Words are just words. There are sure some high and mighty in here. What the hell are some of you guys even doing playing games anyway? Why don't you get back to your church socials and quit complaining. This game doesn't have anymore profanity than a lot of other games. So what if it does? Don't play it. Go get your barbie dolls you big sissies! Funny some of you guys are even posting in this forum that doesn't censor words. I'm sure there is a Mario Brothers forum someplace you could post in so you don't have to wash your mouths out with soap when you read. Some of your guys really need to get a grip.
